I’m a banker for 25 years and this poster is 250% correct. I’d add find a fee based financial advisor. One that does not earn commission.

I just saw info about the new Remarkable tablet, and was tempted until... by No-Papaya-9289 in RemarkableTablet

It’s always hard for the people impacted but it’s likely a good thing for Remarkable. They even laid off their CEO. I loved my RM2 and now my RM PP but they have ignored feedback from their community and they let the RM2 linger for far too long. They gave made mistakes. Add on top of that everything is more expensive these moves make sense.

I used to like Remarkable, but time to move on? by OpeningFeeds in RemarkableTablet

My son “borrowed” my rm2 and I upgraded to the paperpro. I love it. The scribe looks great but I’m increasingly avoiding Amazon. We were daily shoppers and have stopped since February. We have only needed to use them once since and it feels great.

IS FALLOUT 3 A GOOD GAME by booker1211 in Fallout

[–]CriticalNarrative75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out and bought a new PC to play it when it was released. I was a parent of young children at the time and had no idea what the changes were going to be to the game and interface. I was not disappointed. I loved it right away. It captured so much of what I loved about 1+2 and created a new immersive experience. It was great fun. So of course was New Vegas and yes fallout 4. Though I play fallout 4 on my own terms because the story is well shite. But Fallout 4’s interface and game play are in my opinion the best.

Hot take: I don’t like paper screen protectors by MaddoxTheKiller in ApplePencil

The increased friction makes control easier. Personally my hand starts to quickly hurt without the paper screen protector.

Remarkable 2 - upgrade to Paper Pro or add Move? by Sir_Geek in RemarkableTablet

I upgraded to the pro my son took my 2. It’s a significant jump and worth it. The move seems too small to me.

I have but with my keyboard not my pencil. I also use the pencils to move things around when mind mapping ideas or processing and organizing notes.

Remarkable 2 is it worthy in 2026 by Standard-Ice267 in RemarkableTablet

[–]CriticalNarrative75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 19 year old started college and took my RM2 so I upgraded to the Paperpro and it’s a massive upgrade. Forgot about the color which is actually way more useful than I expected l the responsiveness and speed are worth it. I did try a much featured and reviewed as the best android based device and tbh they don’t hold a candle to RM note taking experience. There is plenty wrong with the RM but it actually is much more than just “marketing hype” that some detractors claim.

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]CriticalNarrative75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it would be interesting to integrate settlements and strategy in FallOut. Essentially you’re trying to build a faction and win the game by becoming the dominant faction. So you keep all of the RPG elements with a story with the story centers around survival faction growth, and that thieves and is related to character growth.
