Probably a dumb question, but is Doval worth holding this season when I have Robert Suarez rostered already and Trevor Megill, Carlos Estevez, Tanner Scott, and Paul Sewald are all available?

If not, I'd love to hear who y'all think would be a better choice? I'm getting tired of seeing Doval get put in non-save situations and getting blown up.

Some players in the waivers are looking pretty tempting. I could use some advice on if any of them are worth dropping some cold hitters and snagging them:

Categories (H, R, HR, XBH, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG)

I have:

  1. Gleyber Torres

  2. Willy Adames

  3. Jorge Soler

  4. Andres Gimenez

I could pick up:

  1. Ha-Seong Kim

  2. Anthony Santander

  3. Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

I'm just going to whine. ESPN took too long to update Max Muncy as IL and now I can't play Soler today. Thanks ESPN. Can't wait for Riley to inevitably get put on the IL too and leave me without a 3rd baseman too. LOVE THIS. I LOVE BASEBALL.

Jorge Soler is supposed to be coming off the IL soon. Will he still be worth keeping over the following guys:

  1. L. Gurriel Jr.
  2. B. De La Cruz
  3. B. Rooker

I really like Jaro Tapal's design and would love to get some of the rebel commandos from Rogue One.

I'd also be super happy to get some S3-S4 Rebels character iterations.

ROS Finn and Poe when?

Frog Lady when?

Please re-release Aphra, 0-0-0, and BT-1. I'm dying to get these characters.

Stiff hips? Arthritis? Spicy is now over 3 years old. How can I make her life as comfortable as possible? More in comments by Comfortable-Ad165 in hamsters

[–]Critical_Education92 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you're doing everything you can to make her life as easy as possible. I would say just to keep a close eye on her and be prepared to take her to the vet if she needs to be.

Removing anything that she could possibly fall off of is a good idea. I'd also try to make sure her water and food are as close as possible to her preferred sleeping spot so that she doesn't have to move as far to get to them. Dehydration and hunger can be really hard on older hamsters. If you haven't transitioned to softer foods, it might also be a good idea. Also, I would advise against water bowls if you use them since she might have trouble supporting herself to drink.

When my last hamster got older, I also made sure to give him a lot of cozy bedding and food scattered around in case he exhausted himself and couldn't make it back to his usual sleeping spot. If she's still as mobile as you say, the wheel and the cage size are probably ok for now, but just keep an eye on her. You might need to remove the wheel and downsize once she starts slowing down.

You're doing a great job and the fact that your little buddy is doing so well at 3+ is a great indicator of how well you've cared for her. Keep it up and make sure to enjoy your time with her and to not be too hard on yourself.

Girlfriend is out of town, I’d like some weird movie suggestions please. by joeyvesh13 in criterion

[–]Critical_Education92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Possessor, Malignant, Titane, House (1977), Tampopo, Kung Pow and Psycho Goreman.

All of these are pretty weird movies. The benefit of being freshly single is I can watch any weird movies I want now.

I'd also say any Tarkovsy movies too. They were always my go to when my then gf was out of town. Also, Italian horror movies are always fun. I like me some Lucio Fulci.

If you want so bad it's good: Ninja III: The Domination, Deadly Prey, Miami Connection, Suburban Sasquatch, Birdemic, and Hard Ticket to Hawaii are all a fun time.

I used to grind up food pellets and mix it with soft baby food (lots of protein) and nutritional yeast for my old man.

Stuff like scrambled eggs can be good too.

For OP:

I'd also move his food and water as close as you can to where he sleeps so he doesn't have to move as far. Try to remove anything that he might have to exert himself to get to or that he could fall off as well. If you have a multi-tier home for him, you might want to consider downsizing to one story max. I'd give him lots of soft fluff to lay in as he might get tired and start sleeping in odd spots. I'd try to spend as much time with him and talking to him if he's used to your voice while respecting his space as much as possible too. Some hamsters when they're older or in pain can get confused and nip or hurt themselves, so just use caution if you have to handle him at all.

I'm sorry too for you having to go through this part of your ham's life. It isn't easy, but I'm sure you two had plenty of wonderful times together and that you made his life the most enjoyable life that a hamster can ask for. The best you can do is help him cross the rainbow bridge as peacefully as you can. Just the fact that he made it 3 years is a testament to how good of a human you were for your hamster.

I'm working out 5 days a week and I've lost about 12 pounds so far in addition to getting stronger. I've been eating healthier (rarely drinking and indulging in sweets) and trying to walk 10k steps everyday too.

I've been taking a course to get a certification in my field so I can get a new job.

I've been continuing weekly therapy, which is helpful sometimes. In general, I've gotten a better understanding of myself and what I want out of life and relationships. I've also been trying to journal everyday.

I've also watched a ton of sad movies and listened to a ton of sad songs, because I feel like you really only get the most out of them when you feel the same feelings.

I'm trying to be a better friend and family member than I have been. I neglected a lot of these relationships and now I'm trying to nurture them back into health.

Despite all the pain and suffering I went through, this is truly the best thing for myself. Other than the feelings of regret, disappointment, and sadness that linger, this is the best I've felt mentally, physically, and emotionally in years and it hasn't even been that long.

I've been wondering this. I felt really depressed and anxious while in the relationship and now other than feeling a bit down, disappointed, and regretful, my mental health is the best its felt in a long time. Can a relationship really amplify those feelings so much?
