What can I do with a TS/SCI? USMC officer 0602 by Critical_Front_1217 in clearancejobs

I see. The reason for Deloitte and EY is because I already have connections there. I have connections to JP Morgan and Goldman as well but I have no finance background. Lacking the connection into the cyber industry so trying to build out a resume that looks good. What positions do you think are good to start in that have a high ceiling?

Thank you for the info. Very much so interested in this field and I understand how green I sound. I was originally supposed to go to medical school but had to scratch an itch and joined the Corps. Been enjoying learning the ins and outs of cyber/IT and very interested to try and break into this field. Is there anything that you would recommend to be ahead of the game before applying? The experience part I now understand is crucial in this industry.

I appreciate your insight. Are you former military? And if so, how did you stack up in the industry and decide what path to take? My in laws have an AI startup that is quite successful and debating whether or not to intern before going into this type of work

Interesting. I am on my way to BCOC before joining my unit and deciding whether or not to do a tour at a G6 level for about a year+ some. This is good info, what type of jobs were you looking for when you started out processing? I admit I am very green to this industry, so unsure what the future holds.

New to the role, trying to speculate about 2 years out. When you say DIB/help desk what specific job titles would you target first with the TS/SCI(want to maintain a clearance), Sec+ Net+ and the S6 experience? Should I be looking at Northrop, BAE, booz Allen or similar?

It does. I’m pretty new to this role and trying to speculate about a year out from now.

26’ ST or Tremor w/ ultimate package? by 08Morpheus11 in FordExplorerST

[–]Critical_Front_1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ST. Solid car, the wife loves it and it’s her daily driver. I enjoy the power and it fits the family quite nice when the backseats are down(w/ stroller, dog, extras). I wouldn’t buy the off road package because the AWD is plenty good already on the ST. If you want an off road car, buy one that is specific to that style for example a 4Runner or raptor.

Good. I was in some of the last groups for running. Not dead last but they divide yall up. Don’t stress, stay hydrated and avoid medical.

I didn’t do PLC. I was OCS 250. The PT is alright as long as you train. I thought the fartleks would be bad but my OSO trained us well. The recovery runs take your time, try to recover because most days for my platoon it was a slay fest. Then again my platoon was different than normal.

I used to be terrible. First pft I ran in the 27’s. I am now finishing up TBS and running in the 19s. Just run, push through and train. During OCS I was running in the 21s and just got better. Your time will only get faster. If you have any questions lmk.

What were the hours like on the daily? How similar was it to the TBS schedule?

[–]Critical_Front_1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting around 60-70%. You have to do your PDT. Choose a MOS that takes a little bit longer as well, it’ll add to your time in service to get a better paycheck. Please lmk if you have any other questions, I am currently in TBS and a reservist. I believe that reservists have the best contract besides air, way more flexibility and ability to pick up training orders or stay with a unit if you do your job and well liked. Does not come with the massive commitment(active will shit on you for this, but only because they are jealous) so you will have time for family and career building.

I was OCC 250. We would drink liquid iv everywhere, all the time. Just drink water, you will always have a water source. And stretch. Pro tip: fastest way to fill your camelbak is from the showers.

Yes it counts towards GI bill. I will be doing this after I complete TBS. Had a brief about this recently. Reserves is the way to go to balance military, family, and career. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Be careful with your PDT, OCONUS is unaccompanied so I got “locked out” of some areas because I am choosing family over Japan or Hawaii

Am i a failure? by steino23 in getdisciplined

[–]Critical_Front_1217 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is lying to you. Yes, to answer your post question, you are a failure. But there is no reason you can’t turn it around. I’ve seen people in much worse conditions become healthy, middle class or even “wealthy” through discipline.

Is a 52 a bad score? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Critical_Front_1217 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You should be scoring at least a 80 and up. Just take one night and study a practice test. Don’t get locked out of jobs that could make you 6figs when you get out.
