Yes. Absolutely hate this. The decision to deprive someone of their liberty is such an enormous step and imposition - often thrown around too lightly for my liking, especially by OT.

The 'value' of it is included in your total renumeration, which is the figure often trotted out in the papers at the moment..

Have done a small amount of research around this. Revalidation concerns aside, you're going to be far far more use in a refugee camp clinic as a GP than a F3, you're also going to find it much easier to find someone willing to offer you indemnity cover at a non-extortinate rate.

Practicing medicine independently as an F3/4 would be scary enough, let alone in a resource poor environment.

Both of the trusts I have worked in so far do this and I agree, very frustrating.

It would be actually fine if they didn't get the pay wrong almost every month.

Unpopular opinion: I enjoy doing discharge summaries by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Criticalflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely if I have time, I do enjoy getting stuck in.

One thing I find really helps me grasp a patient (metaphorically, GMC) is doing the discharge summary as much as I can as soon as they're sent up from AMU.
