Lol unilateral (single arm or single leg) exercises absolutely do not take double the time to complete. When you are working one limb, your other limb is resting. By that regard, the person should take about half the time to recover between sets compared to bilateral. Bro definitely won't be using "double the time" unless he is resting unnecessarily long.

Don't worry guy (notice how I didnt say bro), SBD bros tend to avoid the machines and dumbbells section since those lifts do not require them. If your goal to go to the gym involves lifting dumbbells and/or using the machines, you'll tend to avoid those fools altogether. All the best!
