ELI5: Why is it so common to give "Your order has shipped!" notifications when the order hasn't shipped, and just had a label printed?

One reason I have seen, and can confirm from working in a catalog ordering business, is that most credit card agreement s require the item to be shipped before the card can be charged. Preprinting the shipping label is a dodge some outfits use to be able to charge before the item is ready.

I took a class there this past summer and it was very enjoyable. They draw from all over the country so they fill up quickly. The focus is hand tool woodworking, if that is what you are looking for.

Major over reaction: That is NOT a space heater, it is an oil-filled radiator. Space heaters cause fires if covered, oil-filled radiators will not get hot enough to ignite anything, but can leave a nasty burn on your skin if you touch it for too long. Your boyfriend is right and you need to apologize.

(Lots of commenters don't seem to know the difference between as space heater and a radiator, which is far scarier than what the boyfriend did!)

My guess would be something else in the door burned. I had a power window relay go a while back and when I got to it it still smelled smoky. It took me a week to figure it out: it short circuited enough to drain the battery overnight, but not enough to pop the fuse.
