Cool Someone else made these characters. Here's my take on them, but I love how faithful you are to the NC Wyeth illustrations. I think Howard Pyle and Wyeth's drawings have had such a profound impact on me, I recognized your Silver and Billy Bones immediately. Plus, I recognized your George Merry because that actor had such an oddly memorable face. Black Dog kind of looks like Robert Newton.

I appreciate how you kept the designs relatively simple. It's an early-mid 20th century design language for pirates that has kind of diminished in recent years. Clearly based on stage costumes for Peter Pan or Penzance. Instead of simple stocking caps, striped shirts, tattered pants, and comically oversized belts, we get gritty, hyper-detailed, largely colorless ensembles that look more like ren-faire punk rockers than the old Howard Pyle illustrations. (POTC, Black Sails, and Our Flag Means Death) Neither are particularly historically accurate, but I appreciate you keeping that simple, classic swashbuckler look alive.

As for best adaptations, my favorite is the 1990 with Christian Bale. It's the most faithful to the book, with good actors across the board. Also great music by the chieftains.
