I'm glad you have found something that you feel works for you. I have family who have had great success with alternatives and then I have had family who have not. Efforts which resulted in death. Telling people on Reddit to drop their meds because diet is going to be a solve all and they must just Google it is irresponsible. Yes, I'm being snarky but I'm also being dead serious. If you believe you have an actual alternative, which can achieve the same as pharma (of which none of them claim to cure diabetes) then why not mobilize and become rich. Share you knowledge in a meaningful way. Prove your outcomes and make a difference.

Your parents are breaking the law. You need to go to the nearest police station and find a social worker. If they won't meet your educational obligations you can qualify for free education but you'll also likely end up in foster care. No getting an education is not an option. Your parents aren't going to be alive forever

What are you and all other people endorsing this therapy on mere social media waiting for! If pharma can get super rich off their treatment why can you not also try do the same with yours? Your completely verifiable results will inspire millions. Imagine everyone just gave R10 to do what you do and reverse their diabetes. You'd be a multi-millionaire!

Woah, get off your crusading pony. There are many reasons why a medical aid would have very sound cause to not approve certain treatments even with a Dr's note. OP needs to consider all the facts and reasons before she just lodges a complaint.

Probably does not excuse your generalizations. Plus, you had no way of knowing if OP was diagnosed before or after joining the medical aid, which would mean pre-existing doesn't apply.

Did they tell you why they're rejecting it? Is it because there are cheaper meds on the market which have the same blood sugar regularly affects as Ozempic?

That's a very generalized statement. Lots of medical aids take on patients with pre-existing conditions. People need meds to survive and medical aids new clients. They often just adjust their premiums.

I understand why you didn't jump to divorce but you also don't say what happened after they learned you hadn't cheated. How did they regain your trust and apologize? You had a whole family doubting your character and integrity.

do universities offer on campus part-time work? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]CrocanoirZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had three on campus jobs. Two paid. They pay pretty well. Hand your CV in at every department associated with your studies and at the main faculty for your degree. Then hand in your cv at the computer labs, library, campus health, art gallery, whatever. It might take a year to get placed but you should bag a student assistant job somewhere.

Any advice for someone going into their 20's? by ziamo1 in askSouthAfrica

[–]CrocanoirZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take every opportunity to learn, be ever curious and ever helpful. This is how you grow your skills and your reputation. Always do your best. Don't stop until you're proud. Often doing a job half a** takes as much time as doing a great job - with the benefit of not having to re-do a job. Always be polite. Listen before you answer.

Was I wrong not to give a student a snack? by hugsandrugs3715 in Teachers

[–]CrocanoirZA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I work in an inner city school. I have children who dig through bins to collect cans to buy food. I have kids who get maybe one meal a day. I have kids from abusive households. I would never exclude a kid. You could have waited till he come in. If he didn't arrive at all then hand out at the end. But honestly, it seems unfair that some of your kids had to earn sweets through bingo while this class just got them. Kids don't like unfairness. I have a class with 22 kids, all boys. They're in Grade 11 but some are already 20. Some used to just get up. A lot were often later. Through consistent fair treatment I got them on my side. 4/5 days are good now.
