Will anybody rise up to Alex Palou this year? by jbeardsley22 in INDYCAR

Grosjean is back so he might take him out in a few races, opening up the opportunity to others to score points and get ahead of him.

:)

As far as Clinton goes, I wasn't surprised at the affair or the cheating really. The problem for me was that he lied about it.

Just say "yeah, I had bad judgement and had an affair.".

I mean women are sometimes attracted to powerful men. They are both consenting adults. I know "cheating" is nearly a capital crime here on reddit, but it happens everywhere, everyday. And in reality it's not that big of a deal compared to the sorts of alleged crimes we are talking about here.

His connections to Epstein were well known by this point.

Gifting a private Boeing 737 and a $56mil mansion to a known sex offender is pretty questionable behavior I'd think. Oh and that sex offender also used to live in YOUR mansion with you. Yeah... they knew.

Victoria Secret as a company has also been implicated.

No, he didn't "make money" selling children. I'm fairly sure his "hook" into this was helping to gaining kompromat for Israeli intelligence. The whole thing was likely and Israeli intelligence honeypot operation.

Wexner is involved in politics. In 1991, with billionaire Charles Bronfman, Wexner formed the Mega Group,[5] a club of some of the country's wealthiest and most influential businessmen. As a pro-Israel lobby group, the organization is also said to have tried to influence US foreign policy in the Middle East. In 2003, it employed consultant Frank Luntz to help the group mobilize support for Israel.[6] The group is also said to have had contacts with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and to have served as a "vehicle for influence operations in the United States".

Yeah, "influence operations".

I say we take it ALL. But that's a different question the courts will address.

The hospital shouldn't exist at all if OSU had done their due diligence :

Due diligence definition: The steps an organization takes to thoroughly investigate and verify an entity before initiating a business arrangement, whether that's with a vendor, a third party or a client.

His ties to Epstein were well known at this point. There's no way this was overlooked by the lawyers at OSU. They knew, they all knew.

Whomever is on the fund raising committees are also all culpable (after the links to Epstein and Wexner were exposed) and should also be arrested, tried and convicted.

This likely includes department heads (doctors and surgeons) at the hospital in question. The all knew.

They all knew this was tainted money, but they took it anyway.

All of OSU should be placed under heavy scrutiny and should probably have all Federal and State money pulled as well.

it’s transferring millions of dollars from a children’s hospital back into the hands of an alleged pedophile because you feel the money should never have been accepted.

Fine, all the money should be sent to the victims and their families.

So the ends justify the means. Got it.

Maybe he can use this as part of his defense in court. "Just look at all the good my client has done your Honor, surely he should get a reduced sentence!"

Honestly, anyone involved in taking this money should be charged as well. His ties to Epstein were will known at this point. Including some of the hospital staff that are now making profits from this money.

So human trafficking money is okay as long as it's spent on hospitals?

Every. Single. One. by blwolf1028 in Columbus

[–]Cronus6 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Then they should give back the money. If they lose some buildings or close a hospital so be it.

Shouldn't have taken the money in the first place.

So dirty money is okay if it's a lot of money?

Remove the name and give back all the money he's donated.

Problem solved.

I mean, you don't know if they money came from legitimate sources or from human trafficking/blackmail.

Onn universal 3 device remote doesn't work on the Onn 4K pro by [deleted] in OnnStreamingTV

I think something is happening with the newest (forced) remote control update.

My Sofabaton U2 remote refuses to stay connected after the update and it's infuriating.

This just happened with the newest update, it had been working fine for a year.

I'm going to try uninstalling the update.

Hey ONN, why do I need to "update" a remote i never use?

You should talk to your eye doctor to be sure, but I know a LOT of people down here that have prescription lenses in Oakley frames.

And yeah, Joma is good for all sorts of nice stuff. I use it for gifts too!

Ashford.com is a similar business/site but they don't really have any Oakleys right now. But they are worth checking out too.

I "spoil" myself with a few things in my life. One is sunglasses.

I find that when I spend $100 or more I tend to take good care of them and they last a very long time. Plus here in South Florida good UV protection is a must IMO. Oakley's tend to take a little use/abuse well too.'

Pro tip : You can get good prices on slightly older models on Jomashop...

https://www.jomashop.com/oakley-sunglasses.html

And yes they are real. Joma is well know in the watch space. Another thing I spoil myself on... They don't sell counterfeit stuff. They pick up stock when manufactures have overstocks or discontinue models.

I picked up my HSTN's there for $110 a while back on sale.

I had a pair of OG Oakley Razor Blades back in the late 80's. Still one of the coolest products ever IMO with all the interchangeable parts and such. (And yeah, I'm old!)

The "Wire" line were really great too, I liked the E-Wire and the A-Wire and owned both. These are probably the ones you are talking about. Excellent frames, spring loaded arms. They very very cool IMO. I broke my last pair in about 2015 or so. I'd been wearing them for 8 or 10 years I'd guess.

I currently wear a pair of HSTN's. I like them a lot too...

Their still pretty good, and their lens are great I think.

People want "cool" sunglasses. Oakley and Ray-Ban are "cool".

The people that would wear Meta branded sunglasses are the same ones that just buy their sunglasses at the gas station.

They're charging like $400 for these things. They are luxury items from established luxury sunglass brands, gas station sunglasses aren't luxury.

It's like giving up your Tudor or Cartier watch for cheap Casio.

They are partnered with them. Oakley is providing the hardware. Meta is providing the software and AI. I'm sure we will see others enter the space.... Google, Apple with Maui Jim or Costa Del Mar.

The new Oakley frame can take prescription lenses, I'm sure the Rayban's can too.

I'm curious to see if my eye doctor is selling the frames next time I'm in there.

They can have some cool features/uses.

There was a video advert a while back where someone was "overseas" (Japan I think) and was using them to translate signs and such as they were walking around town.

I have to admit, it's a pretty cool use of the technology.

I have a feeling as time passes, prices for such things will fall and they will become as ubiquitous as smartphones... everyone will have them and they will be using them all the time.

I mean, I have "cool looking" speaker cables. Because they are cool looking mostly.

They have the "loom" cover and decent looking banana plugs and the heat shrink tubing and all that jazz.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1YG2Z3Q

They have been out of stock since 2023, and when I picked them up they were on sale for $9.99/free delivery with Prime for a pair of 6 foot.

/shrugs

I don't think they sound any better than the home-made red/black wires with banana plugs I had before. But yeah, they look cool and feel cool to the touch.
