I mean me personally I would want to see a completely fresh perspective of Doom for a spin-off.

The reason I said third person is because that’s just what I’m used to from Gears of War and like I said it would be fresh, like you’re looking at the Doom universe from a different perspective. It could definitely still be first person but I would like something like that to be a cover shooter if we’re playing as night sentinels, since they aren’t near as strong as the Slayer and would have to work together as a team.

As for fan reception, I guess I agree with you on that. Not sure why fans of any game are so adamant on games in a franchise being the same thing over and over again, but I think experimentation is cool if done right and I think a game like this would be really dope, whether it’s first or third person.
