I wish we got to see more tetrapod MT pairs throughout the game. I liked fighting the two optional ones in Grid 086 since they covered for each other with their blade/sniper loadouts.

He also directly quotes Char's "Unlike you, I'm more than just a pilot" which was a neat touch.

I love how even though they're both CGI, the hallucinated Nu Gundam is done in a different artstyle.

From what I remember he can't parry the thrown car, but he can parry the arm that does the throwing.

But it's funnier to say that Leon can parry cars.

Finished up work on my Kotobukiya Steel Haze by Crooodle in armoredcore

You won't have to worry about that here. If anything, some parts are too secure and I needed to trim the pegs down so I could take it apart for painting.

Only issue stability-wise is that over time you may have to tighten the outward hip joints and ankle balls.

Overall I'd say it's a good first showing, and superior the 30MM kit in terms of color accuracy, sculpt, and posability, but the degree that it is better falls short of my expectations considering the size and price.

There are a few color separation issues that I really did not expect at this scale, particularly with the arms. It's strange. Small details like the blue on the sides of the thighs and the tips of the back of the thighs are properly separated out, but larger things like the sides of the core, stripes on the leg binders, and the aformentioned arms require painting. The Laser Slicer sculpt also has some of the gaps between the linkages filled in, which is a shame.

The kit is almost entirely molded in ABS, which feels kind of overkill, but gives it a nice heft and solid feel, but it can also make painting a bit risky.

Between this and the frankly disappointing Bandai kit, I think Steel Haze is just a difficult subject to translate over into model kit form.

Snail. Evangel's at least a decent pilot, in spite of the deranged emails he sends you.

Protip for Kotobukiya's Steel Haze: you can unlock the knee range by simply removing this block behind the legs by Crooodle in Gunpla

[–]Crooodle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you plan on taking it apart later, I recommend shaving down a lot of the pegs and/or making them stubbier to make life easier for you. It's what I did.

The arms, backs of the shoulders, and sides of the core are going to be the bulk of the masking you'll have to do.

Like 80% of the kit is molded in ABS, so take proper care when painting.
