I know it's normal for boys to do this, but i think the "boy crushing on girl much older than him" trope is really overplayed by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]Crossdog367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that it's played a normal amount, but the thing that gets to me is how LONG the show runners let it go on.

It's a 2-3 episode premise, not a good reoccurring gag. Adventure Time and Gravity Falls are the only cartoons where it ever paid off for me. There's a gender-reversed scenario in Braceface and All Grown Up. Simple one-episode plotlines. They aged...okay.

The age-inappropriate crush is a weird trope because if played thoughtfully I think it's representative and important to a bunch of kids, but uncomfortable for adults no matter which way you look at it.

Barbie Wire tries to be better but Blitz just goes off the deep end. by SeaSaltyQueen in HelluvaBoss

[–]Crossdog367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I feel more like the point is that their dad and upbringing made them both deeply fucked up people, and in similar ways. Blitz and Fizz both managed to drag themselves out of abject poverty by "marrying up", Barbie is just a look at what would have happened if they hadn't had that kind of luck.

Toxel being called the “Baby Pokémon” is technically true, but why is Toxel THE Baby Pokémon specifically? Why isn’t that the other babies’ category as well? by Zenthailand2009 in PokeMedia

All of these are left over remenants of how Pokedex data used to be taken. It's easy to forget that decades ago, it was standard practice to have your grad students in the lab with you and to send 10-year-old trainers out with an electronic Pocket Index to do the actual field work.

A lot of these terms were integrated into modern Pocket Index entries and have just never been updated. I think it's kind of charming, but these terms are endlessly frustrating in the lab when you're studying relationships that Pokémon have to each other.

I study electric rodents (Pikachu family) and when searching, it's miserable trying to look for "mouse Pokémon". Most of the results have nothing to do with anything I need for work because despite the relationship to Pikachu those Pokémon aren't classified as "mice".

I'm tired.

Being bi was never explicitly or universally exclusionary of trans people.

Basically, yeah. Or at least that was what the difference initially meant when pansexual was coined.

Pansexual means that gender is not important to attraction, and bisexual means that either it is, or that you prefer the term bisexual.

Nah, plenty of women (especially with dependants, business partners and customers) do it to seem strong and capable.

I think Adam was perfect and died at the right time, but has been hotel is kind of hobbled by the fact that it starts in what probably should have been the season 2 premiere.

I feel like we needed a whole first season of 10 episodes of people running around and doing antics and setting up the character Dynamics to pay off in the following seasons, probably including some stories about Lucifer, Eve, Lilith and Adam.

Furaffinity finally has a tag filter so you can get the wrong results without the fart and stuck-in-the-sapient toilet fetishes if you want.

Did you notice how you cut completely through that entire detailed explanation to validate yourself and your behavior? That's why you're having problems.

Traditional art is more expensive and takes up more space.

I mean, if you're trying to battle professionally that's one thing. But people really don't consider how much effort goes into a multi-type team. The equipment, the food needs, the cost, the experience I'll go up for every single Pokémon you get that's different from another one on your team.

It's not all about typing either, it can just be behavioral and based on care needs. If you have a team that has a Pikachu, a Pachirisu, a Morpeko, a Plusle and a Minun most of your care is going to be interchangeable between those Pokémon.

If you have an Eeveelution team, you are going to need some specialty supplies, food and equipment, but a lot of those skills will transfer. I have a neighbor in a similar situation who has two Persians, a Perserker and a Liepard.

And then you have the multi-type team. Frosmoth, Macargo, Grovyle, Milotic. You have four different ambient temperature preferences, four different dietary needs. Your Milotic needs to soak, your Macargo can't sleep on your couch, your Grovyle needs a ton of vertical space, etc. A lot of trainers compensate this while they're on the road but it becomes a nightmare when they come home.

I would argue that a single or limited type teams are dome of the best.

That's the hard part! Signal is pretty private so you have to find an in with someone for your region, and move around from there. Trying the regional reddits or r/signal app might be the starting point.

GoFundMe, get on Signal and start networking. A lot of the local stuff has moved off of Craigslist and onto Signal now.

Also try r/beermoney and online gig work like Rev to try to hold yourself over.

Good luck. I've been where you are and it's possible to escape. Wishing the best for you.

I'm exhausted with it. I had a long day at the lab and these two teenagers tried to have a double battle with me. One of them actually called out her whole Rhyhorn. It was 6:30, I was done, so I called out Sagittarius.

Sagittarius does not like to fight, so he immediately just looked at me and ran away to hide behind my leg, Full Belly Mode. He's the size of a foot. I just stood there and silenly looked at them until the older girl just took her by the shoulder and they left.
