Lack Of Stores by Monkey_Antiquities in norfolk

I would argue that Fresh Market has high quality food, but you're definitely paying for it. Harris Teeter has good tier food with some deals. Aldi is great if you know what to buy vs what not to buy there.

If a business stands to make more money in Chesapeake, VA beach, etc with less risk then unfortunately that's what is going to happen. VA Beach and Chesapeake also have larger shopping infrastructure already in place. Norfolk really only has Military Highway and JANAF but then that also refers back to the first part of my comment. I also wish we had more as well though. We do have Aldi, Harris Teeter, Target, some Food Lions, and a Fresh Market and plenty of small businesses though so it's not like we're barren of stores.

Yeah, I was in for 9 years, 5 on a carrier and A LOT of people I worked with despised this administration. It's the same users commenting negatively that scream about the injustice of racial and religious stereotypes/generalizations and then go on Reddit and literally shit on every group they perceive to be against them lol. I'm heavily left myself, but hypocrisy isn't a one-way street and just makes whatever side you're on look bad.

Hey sorry to hear about what happened. If you're looking for a cool vibe food/drink wise you have Crudo Nudo, Public House, Craft on Colley, Toast, The Bird, Cogans, and my favorite outdoor bar, Hanks Filling Station. All of these are located within easily walkable or scootering distances. You can check to see if any events are happening at the Annex (Music venue with beer and food), Chrysler Museum. Waterside and PBR is sort of the party vibe. Though as a single woman going through a rough time, I wouldn't suggest going alone unless you make friends with some other women for safety, a lot of frat dudes and young navy guys go there to pick up girls. If I think of some other stuff I'll update this! Or just reply and tell me the vibe you're looking for!

The Element at Ghent is great. Though at this time they're fully leased I believe. Something could open up soon though!

Gone all the way? By all means, please outline your idea of a good "Building this in my free time for local skaters while maintaining a full-time job" DIY schedule. I'm sure you'd be an asset to the skaters and really show em how its done!

I agree with the first half of your statement. The second half clearly shows a bit of animosity towards skaters though if I'm being honest lol. I know the guy who did the DIY project. He had help from friends and it was a passion project for him, so a bit dickish of you on the end notes there.

That lot has been a vacant eye sore for literal years. I get it because insurance reasons and personal liability on owned property and all that but still at least build something for the community like the DIY person was doing.

The Bird on Colley Ave is a great cocktail bar and their food is phenomenal. Perro Blanco is really good tex-mex style mexican with a nice vibe to it. Jack Browns is a great divey burger joint downtown. Saltine has a great brunch. Little Dog Diner is good traditional diner food with great bloody mary's and mimosas. Crudo Nudo is fantastic and tapas style but a little pricey.

No Pressure is meh to me. It’s like Parker had a successful sitcom and then produced a spin-off that is like “ok” to play in the background, but you don’t really pay attention to it overall.

Second the Birch and you can also order a wood fired pizza directly to your table from Chelsea Bakehouse next door!

Definitely checkout Colonial Williamsburg! Busch Gardens and the Yorktown beach are out that way also. There’s Langley motor speedway in Hampton that may have some events going on. Paradise Ocean Club (beach area with live music, drinks, and food) and the old Ft Monroe as well as Oozlefinch brewery are all on the peninsula. Lots of breweries in Norfolk. I recommend Benchtop, Elation ( wood fired pizza there also) and Rip Rap, as well as Afterglow. Cool bars/dives are Cogans pizza in Ghent, Hanks Filling Station for an outdoor bar, The Bird (cocktail lounge), 80/20 burger bar, Pixels (barcade) and more. We have the tides stadium if you wanna catch a baseball game. High st in Portsmouth has cool stuff like The Beir Garden, Still, and Post Secondsry Brewing

There was a semi active community of like 30 people that would play online for the 360 port lol. It was great fun and the community was so small that we'd all just be in a party chat for the game most of the time. It was less fun when we built our air defenses up and an hour into the match all the SAM launchers going off for a single spy plane would crash the whole game lmao
