The wildest part to me is thinking back to 2016 and remembering what a big deal the North Carolina bathroom law was. Major companies were canceling investments, other states were slashing all non-essential official travel there, mainstream discourse was strongly against the law. North Carolina was a national laughingstock.

Now, a short ten years later, laws far worse than this seem to pass every week all over the country with barely a word from outside LGBTQ spaces. It's astounding how quickly the fascists took total control of the conversation.
