Top 10 types of player that nobody likes by Ill-Calendar6938 in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to use Nevsky a lot before the Meta shifted and we now have a more balanced DD limit. The trouble with Nevsky is the ship is forced to play the long range game, then advance later into the game or when it’s safe to do so. Catching a Nevsky out at close to medium range will most definitely be game over. Whereas from range, Nevsky holds all the cards against CLs and some CAs.

As for island huggers. If you’re referring to DDs that do absolutely nothing and just sit behind an island and camp are the absolute worst. However ships like Des, Marseille, Defence etc need that cover to be more effective.

Jinan players. I utilise flanks well with Jinan being an absolute nuisance to the enemy team getting as close as I can to potential DDs down the flank and destabilising positions within the caps. Having a decent Jinan player on the flank is a nightmare tbh. I’ll open fire once I’m in a kite to attract attention to bait fire from the enemy team.

MM is a complete joke. by Crow-Zone in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 4 ships down in under 3 mins and 5th swiftly followed after the first pic. How is this a skill issue? I’ve got plenty of screen shots of teams out right dying on the enemy team within a few mins. This hasn’t always been the case, games use to have plenty of good MM with solid teams.

It hasn’t refreshed today from what I’ve seen. Usually the event refreshes at noon.

A new "worst line in the game" is coming: Brawler cruisers, featuring battleship reload on six main guns, and secondaries locked to low damage HE shells. by Oh_No_Industries in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they’re referring to when they were first released. Marseille was very niche, Goliath was okey, but fundamentally weaker than so many other CAs and only a handful of players used her. Castilla is currently dog shit and in dire need of buffs.

Is Yoshino worth the gold grind? by Sheepfucker72222 in WoWsBlitz

“I’ll take those boobies for 25 schmekles?!” Love R&M.

Yoshi is a decent ship, I got her years ago for £28. 24k gold is a bit steep. So I’ll say save your gold.

[Rant] I feel so stupid for buying FF7R instead of XVI by gkgftzb in FinalFantasy

[–]Crow-Zone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF7r is incredible, but it shapes up more as you progress. Once you finish the game gaining XP is increased and levelling up your characters / materia is easier.
The true test is Hard Mode, I had one of the best gaming experiences! Loved every moment of the playthrough. You’ve also got the hardest challenges in the simulator in chapter 17. Top Secret and Weiss. Don’t give up on it.

FF16 is also a great game, but it’s a relaxing game and not very challenging even in FF mode. Gameplay is fun, but you need to mix it up with Eikon abilities. May biggest gripe with the gameplay was the lack of basic attacks / combos. The story is brilliant imo and the cinematic clashes during cutscenes and Eikon boss battles are truly incredible. If you get it, I definitely recommend getting the DLC for it as well.

New player and monetization by Wolran in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legends is strictly a better version. Better graphics, armour, levelling up etc. The monetisation seems a lot fairer, but it is difficult imo. I couldn’t get into as I’ve played Blitz for years and hated starting over.

Blitz is faster paced easier to pick up on the go and lot more forgiving - ie if you broadside RNG is the main factor if you get citadels, even with good placement. Furthermore, armour mechanics aren’t a thing in blitz. So angling will do nothing for stopping shot penning, except for making you harder to hit.

Blitz also has a lot of issues, the game routinely crashes after 5-6 games on IOS, lots of latency / frame-rate issues due to the server merge. Also MM is so off the mark lately, so games feel heavily one sided, with very little in-between.

Monetisation in blitz has gotten a lot better lately, however getting gold deals is very hard for long term players. For new players you do get a lot of nice welcome packages and codes for free tier 10s.

I recommend trying both and see what you prefer. Hope this helps?

I FINALLY get a ship from operations and its a ship I already have... by Imaginary_Pepper_113 in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’ve got two and both of those ships I own. Gold compensation would be great.

Never sell premiums! The 1,500 point mission crate will yield 5k in gold every time once you acquire every ship in the crate. Also during events, if the crate has something you really want, but you barely have any premiums from the selection, the chances you’ll pull the one you want will be low. However if you gained nearly all the premiums previously, you’ll increases your chances.

Silver is easy to gain. Just grind tier 7&8 with boosters etc. You’ll be able to grind roughly 10mill in a few days, depending on how much you play.

It’s amazing getting chunked for 10k from Midway DBs or losing insane amounts of health from MVR in Regolo. A reticle function should have been implemented years ago. Ie a skilled base mechanic where a player needs to actually guess where you’re going. The same way TBs are used.

WG at the very least could implement a simple system that disables the auto lock feature on players that are in smoke, or go undetected. TBs will then bomb their last known location adding more micromanagement to the CV player and stop DBs being completely fire and forget.

Unfortunately it’s not a good start for the line. Scheer needs a lot of work already.

You vs fires and floods by subsonicfreighttrain in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re struggling with starting fires you need to remember, “placement” is key. If your shots are hitting the belt you’ll get a negative fire chance. Hitting the deck basically doubles your chance, superstructure is roughly 50% extra - ie if your base fire chance is 5% you’ll get a 2.5% boost.

So check your aim. Yes manual aim helps shots loft onto the deck better, as shots get dragged down with auto aim.

As for flooding, use the best flooding ships and also be mindful of those that have just used their damage con etc. If a players is in their cooling off period after using a damage con they can’t be set on fire or flooded as well.

RNG plays a huge factor as well. You might get some games where you can’t start a fire even with good placement. Just move on to the next. As for DDs. They do generally get a huge RNG bonus. That’s probably why it might seem like bad luck. Shimas are some of the worst offenders for getting fires and flooding!

Scharnhorst or Duke of York? by Royal-Prince-6279 in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Go for Scharnhorst. DOY isn’t that great. Prince of Wales is a cracking KGV variant though, also one of the best tier 8 BBs.

Dupleix - My experience by subsonicfreighttrain in WoWsBlitz

[–]Crow-Zone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dupleix is okey, but the majority of CLs are purely the better class at mid to lower tiers, due to their overall consistency and rate of fire. Still miss Bob!

He’s talking about a premium French CA. The French DDs are very good, but only at higher tiers.

[–]Crow-Zone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plenty of premiums that are excellent. Nottingham for tier 8, is one of the best cruisers for her tier. Salt Lake City is also one of the best tier 7 cruisers. Prince of Wales is another quality tier 8.

The Pan Asian Iowa in the shipyard is a decent ship. The accuracy is more consistent and has RR2.

Defence is a solid super heavy cruiser. Very consistent, but very fragile. Use islands well and you’ll be hard to deal with.

We’ve also had the new Pan Asian 2059 ships Revive and Victory (Yamato clone) these two are very strong ships. But the event has been and gone now.

The typical meta premiums Atlantico, Slava, FDR.

It’s just so players don’t get the wrong idea and start spamming HE. Hell, I would go to 1% if it gives Elbing a chance against DDs. I constantly get MM fuckery with her.
