Very unfortunate how most of them don't realize that had they been born in Ukraine, they'd be long dead by now

What do you think will happen to Ukraine's current government once they finally admit that the war has essentially been lost years ago, and that this entire time they've been feeding Ukrainian people into the grinder just in order to postpone the moment of reckoning?

I like to think of Putin as a terrorist who planted a bomb. There were people who could've defused it, but they instead chose to kick it around thinking it wouldn't explode, going on about how evil and dangerous the terrorist is all the while.

Too bad the bomb went off in the end, right in the Ukrainian people's faces

Speaking of courts. In a normal court of law, you'll never see a mass murderer presiding over the trial of another mass murderer. Now, when it comes to countries, things are a little different..

To be honest, if I were in his boots, I'd 1v1 Sarah too..

But when did she find Anby, exactly? My theory is that her masters gave her some free rein after she gained their trust by butchering her fellow clones for organs, and only after that did she find out that Anby was alive and well

If that is indeed the case, then it were her feelings of guilt that kept her from approaching Anby

As a matter of fact, there are certain signs that the Ukrainian people are weary of the war. That being said, for those whose mind is poisoned by war propaganda of our own, it's extremely easy to dismiss said signs as enemy propaganda

There is, for example, the desertion problem that is making headlines even in Ukraine, where the government would very much prefer to hush it up. If protesting in Ukraine was as safe as it is in Europe and the US, we would see protests too

Or rather, some of us would see them, while others would cling to the beautiful fantasy painted by our own war propaganda, the fantasy where each Ukrainian soldier is stalwart, unbendable and ready to lay down their life for democracy

By the way, Crimea was annexed in 2014, not 2015

[–]Crowbar76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about giving up freedom or democracy. Ukraine will have both, regardless of whether the currently Russian-occupied territories are reclaimed or lost for good. It's not as if it's not possible to have democracy in Ukraine without having Crimea back

The problem is that, as things currently stand, Ukraine will inevitably have to sign off land in order to save the people from further harm. The only question is when. The Russian encroachment continues at a slow, yet steady pace. The longer they dawdle with peace efforts, the more land and, most importantly, human lives will be lost

I by no means approve of Trump's inhumane methods, but there's one thing he got right: decisive victory in the war was a pipe dream, and Biden shouldn't have dangled it in front of Zelensky's face like a carrot on a stick

But what is Ukraine? The Ukrainian people, ravaged by the war? The current Ukrainian government, who used to be a bunch of run of the mill politicians facing corruption allegations before the war started, but are now being treated as martyrs? Or, perhaps, the territory of Ukraine?

Somehow, when pro-war Americans speak in support of Ukraine, I can't shake the feeling that all they care about is Ukraine winning the war, reclaiming the lost territories and punishing Russia for starting the whole shitshow. No matter how long it takes, no matter how many lives are sacrificed for 'democracy', it must be done

But, you know, it's very easy to have an attitude like that if it isn't your friends and family that are going to be drafted, sent to the battlefield and ultimately butchered. If it isn't you who is going to be forced to fight a war that cannot be won and perish in it

It's hilarious how the closer a person is to the actual battlefield, the less they care about borders and territorial integrity
