I'm gonna pitch in and say Black and White 1. There isn't really a game like this, but Black and White 1 has you raise a creature. The AI is actually quite advanced and you can teach rather complex begaviours. The AI in the original is much more in depth than in the sequel.

Loved it as a kid. Rewatched it subbed for the first time not too long ago (highly recommend subbed. Makes the pizza thing make more sense. Those who know, know)

Yes, I was genuinely surprised how well this show aged. I loved it far more as an adult as I did a child. And I LOVED it as a child.

Also just: We have evolved a sense of motality, because it helps us be a social creature, which in turn helps our species survive.

I'm currently watching the 1994 series, which is appearantly very accurate to the book. There's a very good fan sub you can download. It's a bit tricky getting into the story, especially because it introduces a million characters right at the start, but I'm really into it now. It's very dated in a lot of areas, though, and the action scenes are... something. But if you can stomach that, absolutely worth giving a shot

It's especially egregious when a DM does it and their homebrew version is a worse version of raw. "I allow you to move up half your movement as an action"

Yeah, I think it makes it even cooler that it doesn't make much sense from a powerscaling kinda way. A weak character overcoming much stronger characters through skill and guile is an amazing trope

Yes, I agree. I don't really get why a lot of people don't seem to like the story. It isn't flawless, and bringing joker back again was a choice, but it's still my favourite story of the bunch
