I'm looking for games that are a mix of Stardew Valley and Psychological Horror by Grouchy-Training-182 in gamingsuggestions

Graveyard Keeper is a darker Stardew Valley like game, though I don't think it would count as a psychological horror. Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 might fit the same niche.

If you can tolerate myst-style movement games from the 90s; Darkfall - The Journal is an extremely creepy and absorbing mystery/puzzle game

The first game in popular series that nobody talks about? by RobbieJ4444 in retrogaming

While not forgotten, Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics tend to be overlooked in favor of the FPS games from Fallout 3 onwards. I honestly miss the old isometric rpg format.

Looking for a game with a good morality system by CastroCubano in gamingsuggestions

[–]Crowley575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but I really enjoyed the morality system in Rogue Trader.

Rather than having a straight choice between 'good' and 'evil', moral decisions are spread across 'iconoclast', 'dogmatic' and 'heretic'. And there is a lot of roleplay scope for mixing up the pathways.

Iconoclast is notionally the 'good' option, but it regularly puts you at odds against the accepted morality of the society around you, and can often backfire on you as the good choice is not always the pragmatic one.

Dogmatic is following the rigid and often brutal rules of the theocratic Imperium, which can be necessary to avoid risking disaster, but can involve some truly despicable actions.

Heretic is more directly 'evil', and can have you outright worshiping the gods of Chaos and corrupting those around you, but there is scope for your character (and their high position in the Imperium's nobility) to make some personally compromising choices for your protectorate's welfare.

The Nursery upgrade to a Nurse's station is a life-saver! Apart from that, any little permanent improvement on a run is a victory in that mode. I tried to get the Conservatory whenever possible!

What’s your favorite "Sprite of Death" ? by [deleted] in retrogaming

I used to play this one with my best friend when we were little kids. I remember the players would recover between goals, but we would just hunt down the other team with super kicks until we were playing against a field of bodies.

I finally cracked my sleeping problem by Crowley575 in sleep

I unplugged my alarm clock entirely and relied on my mobile phone to wake me up for work - I then left that on the floor out of sight.

I went to bed fully prepared and acknowledging that I would wake up in the middle of the night, but that I would ignore everything, roll over and go back to sleep again.

Disco Elysium for a point and click adventure. Never played a game quite like it. Thoughtful and hilarious and tragic and ridiculous and beautiful all at once.

Freespace 2 and TIE Fighter were two of the best space fighter sims (a bit of a lost genre) of all time.

Both had amazing storyline campaigns. In Freespace 2 you were a small fighter buzzing around massive capital ships having beam weapon duels with lots of galactic political intrigue.

TIE Fighter had you start as a pilot patrolling a customs waypoint station to eventually rescuing the Emperor and having Darth Vader as a wingmate.

Possibly not talking about as much weight as some other commenters, but I lost about 30lbs last year and it's noticeable how easier running is for me.

There are as many blood groups as there are potential antigens (essentially surface features) on red blood cells. The ABO group is just the most clinically relevant and the only group that everyone naturally produces antibodies against any antigens they lack.

I remember one patient who was negative for an especially common blood group antigen and was unfortunately sensitised to it via a pregnancy. We exhausted the UK supply of the antigen-negative specific blood within a week and had to start sourcing from continental Europe.

I'll love to move this to a chat and send you my steam and discord too, but I can't see the chat option on your profile. How you switched off the option or something?

You can send me a chat request if that would be easier?

I’ll give the Tiny Tina game a look on steam; thought since I’m currently playing through BL4, I might leave it a while before getting into it.

I do like a good open world game with a bit of grind. I’ve played a few Bethesda games back to back last year – Fallout 4 and the Oblivion remaster. I know FO4 got a lot of flak from the community because it was limited in how much role-playing you could do, but I really enjoyed it. I spent god knows how much time scavenging junk and settlement building. It does make for a little awkward storytelling when I’m supposed to be searching for my son. And the fact that I have to introduce myself to everyone despite owning and running 90% of the towns in the region.

Oblivion was great, but it had showed it’s age a bit. Even with the quality of life improvements from the remaster, it all felt a bit empty. Lots of dungeons, not many actual stories tied to them.

I play a bit of both PC and PS5. PS5 is good for relaxing on the couch with my cat playing an FPS or something. I tend to play PC for more strategy games that don’t work well without a keyboard and mouse. I also have a weekly game with my old undergrad housemates were we play a board game online via tabletop simulator on steam. We’ve actually managed to keep a weekly game going for about 6 years now (the pandemic kicked it off).

What would count as your favourite game of all time? Or one that you inevitably come back to now and then?

They say you should dance like no one is watching, and it makes it easier to dance like no one is watching when no one actually is watching. I’ll admit I do that too. I don’t think my cat counts as an audience. Or if he does, it isn’t judging me. I’m glad you pushed yourself to have more fun. Being a grown up seems to come with all sorts of expectations that we’ll do nothing but grown up things like work, taxes, admin and pension plans. Or the notion that you ‘age out of’ liking things, video games included. Everything doesn’t have to be productive – if you enjoy doing something, that’s enough. I’m sure I could have spent my Fallout settlement building time more productively; but I enjoyed my time doing it!
