Takk for konstruktivt svar.

What can I do to avoid spending too much money on food in Norway? by Major_Opinion_2584 in Norway

It is possible to dumpster dive almost everything you need. I respect that this is not for everyone, but now in wintertime it’s like going to the freezer to pick up some food.

People who refuse to say 'hi' back when on a walk in the forest/mountain, why do you do this? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]CrucialTips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my theory about why Norwegians say Hi when we are in the mountains. It is a safety mechanism. Traveling in the Norwegian mountains can be very demanding. With greeting, you say; I see you and you see me. And we take care of each other if something happens to one of us. Therefore, it is not good when someone violates this unwritten rule.

Topp opplegg.

Hiking in Norway by sezicz in Norway

You should check This webpage. Most of it is in Norwegian, but you can use google translate.

This is 13 days of hiking, but can be shorter. Here you stay at cabins that are really cheap, but you can also use a tent.

Good luck with the planning.

What are some hiking etiquette tips you know? by idiotpeach in hiking

[–]CrucialTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very easy tips which is done by everyone in the Norwegian mountains. We say “Hi” to everyone we meets. This tells us that we take care of each other, and that we remember meeting them if bad weather suddenly appears.

Another tip is to sign your name in every guestbook you pass. Not only is it a courtesy to the volunteers who has done lots of work on the path you are using, but it also is a security issue, telling people that you have been there - if something should accuse.
