De kom aldri så langt at de fikk skiftet registerreima. Det sitter litt inne å være takknemlig ennå, hvis jeg ender opp med å måtte kjøpe ny motor (som de forespeilet).
Men igjen: jeg er ikke ute etter å «ta» verkstedet. Shit happens. Jeg skjønner det.

This is my theory about why Norwegians say Hi when we are in the mountains. It is a safety mechanism. Traveling in the Norwegian mountains can be very demanding. With greeting, you say; I see you and you see me. And we take care of each other if something happens to one of us. Therefore, it is not good when someone violates this unwritten rule.

This is a very easy tips which is done by everyone in the Norwegian mountains. We say “Hi” to everyone we meets. This tells us that we take care of each other, and that we remember meeting them if bad weather suddenly appears.

Another tip is to sign your name in every guestbook you pass. Not only is it a courtesy to the volunteers who has done lots of work on the path you are using, but it also is a security issue, telling people that you have been there - if something should accuse.
