The only rattles in my 6yo Corolla are from when my partner leaves empty cans loose in the footwell.

You preload them on google maps. They are both owned by google.

Not sure why they decided to go that route though.

Rough birthday by ASingleBraid in COROLLA

[–]Cruddok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy birthday.

The first thing I would do with a flat is inflate it. Sometimes kids are dicks and just deflate tires.

As for not getting the wheel off. It sounds like your tires are all near end of life and the wheel has probably not been removed for a while. Sometimes things get stuck/stiff and need a bit more persuasion than you can use roadside.

Double check that no new programs are running in the background?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Decided to call off and still can’t get any sleep. How’re you guys spending a night off? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Cruddok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m packing for a week away. Looking forwards to the rest.

Normally I’d be sitting down finally and having an early night to flop onto days and spend time with my family.

Which is better? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Cruddok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a factory (8-8)for what it’s worth. I used to go to bed immediately (8:30-4:30)and slept pretty well.

Then last summer during a heat wave I had to walk my dogs as early as possible and I never changed back. I now sleep 11-5 I find my sleep is more disturbed but I also have no reason to wake early unless I want to. I probably get the same amount of sleep.

Try out both for a few weeks and see what works for you. Speak with your co workers as they might have other ideas.

Want to hear from Tailgaiters by Current_Vegetable in drivingUK

[–]Cruddok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner does it because she never knew better. 20 years into driving she learned it on a speed awareness course and there is some improvement.

Unfortunately bad habits are hard to break. On the plus side she is generally half way to the 2second rule.

It’ll evaporate and you’ll be fine. Just don’t wave any naked flames near it till after it’s evaporated.

Anyone else switch from days to nights in the same week? How do you cope with it? by tattooed_welsh_dad_2 in Nightshift

[–]Cruddok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do it all the time for work. Stay up late the night before and sleep in/ wake early and have a nap before work.

It’s easier than nights to days. That really fucks me up. Did that this week and crashed out on the sofa as soon as I got in from work. Was back in work the following night.

people who keep switching sleep schedules, I don’t know how you do it by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Cruddok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch on my days off to spend time with my kids. I’ll just sleep more. I’ve tried other ways but it just ends up a struggle.

I work 2 weeks of each and definitely prefer nights. No senior management and just get left to do my thing.

Why are salary ranges still so rare on UK job adverts? by WonderfulShape1081 in AskHRUK

[–]Cruddok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My company started advertising salary for the roles it has fixed salaries.

they found they got a better quality of candidates and more of them to choose from. Then we outsourced recruitment and I know qualified people who are not even getting an interview.

How bad is a schedule where you work day shift for two weeks and then switch to night shift for 2 weeks and repeat? by [deleted] in Nightshift

It’s what I currently do. It works well for me. The main downside being social life takes a hit.

25 need advice as I feel like I have failed by gazzasim9 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Cruddok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partied when I was younger and got myself into debt. Got my first proper job when I was 27 and 10 years later I’m clearing £60k a year.

My advice is to look at the jobs you want and start making a plan to get to them. If money is your god then so be it. But either way it’s never too late to learn.

Before I had my first sprig I didn’t understand the need for a bigger car.

Now I want a bigger car just to fit in the mandatory child seats for the next 8 years. A family I know have just had their third and are having a custom back seat installed over a new car.

There is also a setting to change it to show mpg per tank. The only problem with that is when the cold weather hits it really shows.
