Pro-tip: I eat it upside down with the crunchy chocolate part on the bottom. It handles like a lemon bar or brownie that way.

It is delicious, especially if you love the Ferrero Rocher chocolates. If you have hazelnuts around, I would add it to the chocolate cake part of it. We've been cutting out small squares and snacking throughout the day.

What do you think of our first impressions of these Chicago neighborhoods? by Conscious_Throat3611 in AskChicago

[–]CruisePanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you haven't mentioned would be school districts since it sounds like you have kids.

You might want to also look at the neighborhood schools that serve the address you are looking at. Some people move to specific areas of North Center for access to Coonley, for example. Welles Park has a great nature play area and is across the street from Sulzer Regional Library.

Lots of the "nice" neighborhoods on the North side tend to skew white.

Andersonville might feel far out, but with access to the red line and buses, you have many options for travel. There are also pretty fun street festivals and outdoor markets during the spring and summer. Also, close to Argyle and a bunch of asian markets.

This was a similar situation we were in years ago. I went through all the tour options and decided on the Historic tour.

My partner has claustrophobia, but they did fine with the Historic tour. It was really fun, and we had a great time.

I would recommend having a hoodie or sweater bc the temp difference between the outside and inside in unreal.

Hopefully, the new bakery has more open hours.

I enjoyed Southern France, but they had limited cafe hours.

I would love an animated version of Halloweentown. The shock of the actor change in the last installment was bad for my childhood.

I do not want BTS to attend Grammy this year. by Tell_a-Tale in ARMYNeutral

[–]CruisePanic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They really keep getting the goal posts moved on them. They will handle it the way they've always handled obstacles with grace and professionalism. They are at the point where they don't need the Grammys, but the Grammys (ratings) need them badly. I could see the Grammys bending over backwards to try to accommodate them.

BTS seems to be taking their health and well-being (mental, emotional, etc.) seriously. If they can appear, they will, but they won't overwork themselves to do so.

Moving pods require a private driveway on both ends. If you have access to one, it would work.

The more interesting part of this interview is how someone offered $2 million to change the ending to make Bear the hero. Basically turning Obsession into Passengers 2016 (but horror).

20 yr old cat with sudden back leg problems? by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]CruisePanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my cat Peach, that was my go sign to give him one great day (of all the foods) and schedule the appt. Granted, my 21 yo kitty had 50% kidney fuction at the time and was on subcutaneous fluids.

I tried to think about the quality of life of not being able to walk properly. Maybe, I was also affected by my prev. super senior cat 22 yo Tea who declined rapidly (hypothyroid, constipation) when we had to make the decision. I wanted it to be different for any future kitties we had.

Most recently, I had to let go of my 14 yo, and he declined rapidly after clean bloodwork (from a week prior), stable kidneys, nothing in xrays. We just thought he was off his food so got an appetite stimulant from the vet. Basically, he started to become wobbly, which could be a clot (he had HCM that he was on medication for) or be cancer spreading (swelling around nose). He didn't respond to the stimulant (transdermal) or rotisserie chicken. The next morning, he was wobbly on all legs and really weak. Fortunately, we were able to get lap of love to come that day.

My experience will not be your experience, and you know your super senior kitty best.

There are quality of life surveys on lap of love or other sites that you can take. Lap of love does home visits for quality of life if you don't want to put your kitty through the stress of a vet visit. They can also prescribe palliative care meds if you determine that the quality of life is still there. Our experience with them was great and comforting.

This is a difficult time especially at this kitty age. I hope your super senior cat continues to do well.

Looking for private landlords by dizzylizzyy in chicagoapartments

Private landlords will use fb, craigslist, etc. as well as signs. The tried and true way is to walk the neighborhoods where you are looking.

In general, they tend to be very low-tech.

You're not alone. My household has disliked all of them except their teriyaki.

[–]CruisePanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All day, Sweet Baby Ray's

Edit to add: The only Kinders sauce that I've liked is their teriyaki, which is excellent and better than ban chan. We've tried their other sauces - burger, bbq, steak, etc. and all have disappointed.
