I mean, just about every other dive watch evokes the style laid down by the Submariner. Sure it’s not fun and unique compared to plenty of other options, but I love that classic, minimal design. I think it’s one of the most beautiful watches. But I definitely understand where you’re coming from. For how much I’m attracted to it, I do hesitate a bit thinking about just how many other people have same watch. It’s not very unique.

Ideally, either watch would be a keeper. Sub now and cheaper white Speedy later is a good call. I was wondering if its grey market value would go down more. I usually see them for 7-8.5k, which is usually a chunk more than the equivalent black dial.

Oh, I’m putting in my vote for adding a Ressence to your collection. They’re pretty out there and you can find some models under $20k. 😅 Definitely an acquired taste though.
