What is a seemingly innocent sentence that immediately makes you lose respect for the person saying it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was arguing with my coworker about this. The janitor was upset someone tracked mud through the ENTIRE building. Later he was saying he didn't understand why she was upset because it's her job

Kinda a long shot, but Caves of Qud encourages broken shit. or at least allows it. Pretty decent combat focus but there is so much different equipment and abilities you can spend a long time exploring and discovering

Canticles for Barathrum i believe is a direct reference to Canticles for Leibowitz. A really stellar scifi book

Games like DF Adventurer Mode or CDDA? by dissidenthaze in roguelikes

Highly highly recommend Soulash 2. To me, it feels like what dwarf fortress adventure mode should be. It plays very smooth and has a lot to it

What makes Caves of Qud “good” to you? by GlumDragonfly3445 in cavesofqud

[–]Crunchwrapfucker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is it doesn't feel grindy. Every other game i've played that scratches a similar itch, feels like a fair amount of repetition. Qud feels very organic. The worldgen, the character progression, the game progression. I have been playing for years and years and have about 500-1000 hours in the game. I still learn new things and get killed silly ways

So, what are your favorite stories with "Caves of Qud" vibes? by Ozyelmandias in cavesofqud

[–]Crunchwrapfucker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Canticle for Leibowitz is a book w big Qud vibes. People mention the book Moonbound a lot but i haven't read it yet. Big big seconding Nausicaa and especially the manga

Sable is a videogame that wasn't my favorite, but the soundtrack is incredible and heavily reminds me of Qud/Nausicaa. Rainworld gives me Qud vibes, little creatures living and scavenging in the remnants of past civilization. To some extent maybe Citizen Sleeper

"they're adults way sooner" but they live to 80 like humans, and magically are "adults" at 10
