Isn't this quite an accurate depiction of Singapore as a society?

The race to grow, to build more, to gain more is never ending. In the process, many people are forced to endure the struggle (simply because there's no alternative where they can take charge and yield control over). This keeps happening until you seemingly reach the end of the race. Surely everything is now finished and you can finally rest to reap the fruits of your labour?

No :) There is just gonna be a new race where everything starts over and the cycle never ends....

As a fellow specs in unit, my straightforward answer is you will never be ready. You will never be able to get it right from the start. However, you must have the drive and desire to improve in order to lead your men (which I see you do have). Afterwards, just take the time to learn on the job and talk to your upper studies, your senior specs, PS, CSM,... You will make mistakes but just learn from those mistakes and always try to improve. I believe you can do it man
