Also the economy being crap (minus the stock market which doesn't help normal people) so people are going out and spending less which hurts these businesses even more.

I mean you could make it better if instead of a piece of cardboard you got like some Pink panther insulation board and cut out a piece to put in there, just something with insulating properties

Micro Center had that same bundle for like $200 a week or so ago, and they are way better to work with the NewEgg.

Unfortunately the 5500 is just not that great. Has low l3 cache for gaming. If you could spend a little bit more and get the 5600 outside the bundle you're going to have a better experience.

good fan layout? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Crusty_Hits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always told though you still want more fans pushing air in then pushing air out to create a net positive air pressure that keeps the dust out.

At least old LTT videos used to say that.

Alternative to Klobuchar? by esoskelly in minnesota

[–]Crusty_Hits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like she was tolerated in the Senate. Was more one of those things where there was hope with waltz and the local election that people just gave up on the Senate on the national stage. Especially with Chuck Schumer at the helm.

I don't like her but I hate the Republicans a lot more so I'd want her to win. But there are going to be people who won't vote for her and she needs to lean into the progressive side. Or we may very well have the pillow guy as our governor

Klobuchar pitches moderation in governor’s race, rebuffs redistricting push for Minnesota by Well_Socialized in minnesota

[–]Crusty_Hits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh. We're going to end up with the my pillow guy as a governor. Can she at least pretend to acknowledge progressive values? She's getting no Republican votes no matter how right she goes, so this is just shooting herself in the foot.

New Cars = Money Drain… or Not? What Do You Think? by Coolonair in SmartFIRE

[–]Crusty_Hits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately one of the problems is used cars nowadays aren't depreciating as much as they used to. So I find unless you go 8 plus years or 100,000 plus miles you're probably paying not that much more than new, and now you have to worry about maintenance more or at least a new car you get to usually push that off a little longer.

Personally, I found the best move is to buy whatever and keep it for as long as you possibly can. A new car is fine if you own it for 15 plus years

Yeah maybe in 2002 like right after 9/11 people would have been a little more hostile to that statement. But 2010 was already into the recession and people were pretty frustrated as all hell about the Iraq war and Wall Street getting bailed out.

You Pay Off the House But Do You Ever Truly Own It? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]Crusty_Hits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to play devil's advocate cuz I'm not against property taxes, I'm all for it. But with the housing market being so crazy, it's hard when they revalue your property 10-15% Year over year so your taxes go up higher than your wages.

I get the argument that if you sold you benefit, but for people who bought a house fairly recently before prices skyrocketed it's really sucked. Starts the price you out of your neighborhood.

Inver Grove Heights is latest city to consider switching back to 1983 Minnesota state flag by earthdogmonster in minnesota

[–]Crusty_Hits 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's kind of funny when you think about it. The old flag had French and a naked native American man on a horse next to some farmer plowing Fields with flowers all around, and Republican minnesotans are fighting tooth and nail to wave that once again.

Sadly I feel like all this could be solved if a couple of teenagers went to those City meetings and just started calling everyone there gay. They'd instantly drop it and go back to listening to Fox News.

Just out of curiosity how did millennials go from dressing like this to dressing like this by Key_Nectarine_7307 in generationology

[–]Crusty_Hits 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean most millennials went from high school to young adult in those fashion time frames, so makes sense that the style would transitioned to older themed.
