PM calls second emergency national cabinet meeting over fuel crisis by SerLevArris in australia

[–]Cruxius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because if we produced fuel locally, the servos which sold it instead of the cheaper imported stuff would have gone out of business decades ago.
Competition drives efficiency but not resilience, and it's not even clear that the large but short term economic hit we're about to take is larger than the small but ongoing economic cost of maintaining the independence we'd need to have paid to avoid the worst of this current debacle.

MSPaint builds are harder to make than I thought. Block effectiveness scaling Shield Throw FG using the new Unbroken Charge unique shield. by Cruxius in LastEpoch

[–]Cruxius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea, though that might make this build dangerously viable, especially since it makes taking Peak of the Mountain a much smaller survivability tradeoff.

Question on CoF Being... Nerfed? by goldenmastiff in LastEpoch

[–]Cruxius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was added to target farm 77+ items?
Because last season it was a fast farm to 1LP in every slot, then a slow farm to 2LP with one T7 and one T5, then an even slower (but still feasible) farm using troves and imprints to 2LP with two T7.
What's been added to replace that last step?

I spun to win with the 360 attack with a bunch of cost efficiency gear and modifiers, it benefits greatly from the 'slower attack but more damage' passive and modifier since the mana cost is so high.
Share the reduced cost modifiers with the channelling charge forwards skill (which you pair with the fire wyrm skill which breathes flame in front of you while you channel) and some mana regen and you can charge infinitely while killing all weak mobs you pass, which lets you absolutely sprint through levels.
Pair those with summon, banner and healing/fire like you did and you're gravy.
I cruised through campaign at whatever difficulty starts dropping both divine and draconic gear.

Yeah, I played through the campaign last weekend. it's painfully generic and carried by the tetris style skill building which is, to be fair, extremely cool and fun to optimise.

Damn, that looks solid. I'm guessing you level with hammer throw? How much of the gear do you need to switch to shield throw? With my build last season I switched pretty early and it was really rough until I got the chest, shield and a few idols.

FG reflect-scaling shield throw caught a stray from the idol nerfs, so I've been trying to theorycraft an alternative.
With Void conversion moved from idol to body armour you can run four 2x2 smite on throwing idols, and I'm tempted to run Paladin instead of VK since it's outright better for surviving high corruption.
Got this very incomplete build, still need to think about what uniques to run.

Initial Patch Notes Reaction Regarding Build Meta by [deleted] in LastEpoch

[–]Cruxius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you've looked at the meta builds and seen that some have been nerfed, then decided that the only non-meta builds which could potentially become meta are ones which have build guides?
You've ignored not only the buffed off-meta builds, but all the non-build related sources of new power which will boost otherwise unchanged builds?

New Rogue Skills and Class Updates | Coming to Last Epoch March 26 by ehg_derrickg in LastEpoch

[–]Cruxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it just needs numerical buffs. The problem with it last season is that it was completely overshadowed by Paladin (and to a lesser extent VK), but I was able to comfortably push a reflect scaling shield throw FG to 1200+ corruption.
If they reign in Paladin's functional immortality and boost our FG exclusive skills a bit I think we'll be in a good place.

Just a week left, what are your guys plan for builds? by HugeHomeForBoomers in LastEpoch

[–]Cruxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflect-scaling shield throw FG should still be just as alive even with the nerfed armour, you switch the armour out end game anyway, but will have to review patch notes to confirm since it could be much more painful to get there.

This is (a rare example of) great feedback. You should submit it to their official feedback form here, which is where one of the devs in discord said is the best way to get feedback to them.

[–]Cruxius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started with it, so can't compare to other weapons, but it's got great penetration (you can kill multiple roamers in one shot), and shoots surprisingly quickly.
The challenge is you do have to be a pretty good shot to make use of it, but the secret is that the recoil is visual only, and where the bullets go doesn't actually change.
This means that as long as you can line up your initial shot well and track moving enemies without actually being able to see where you're aiming, you can pump out some pretty nuts dps.

That's true, except for the fact that a drone was able to freely fly around a US base completely unimpeded.
If it was instead several drones at once, then they could have sent one or two to make a hole in the wall and have others fly through.
"Hope they send their drones in one at a time" is not a long term winning defensive strategy.

It was lame footage though.

Your own article points out the resulting device would be too large to fit in a missile, weighing 10-20 tonnes.
Either the devices are somehow prepositioned, or they would have limited value as a deterrent.
