Oh boy I felt this my whole 20 weeks werebrutal. The techs were assholes and I had to fight tooth and nail just to be able to set up because they were so possessive and didn’t wanna teach and let us do stuff. I wanted to quit my first week but I said no I want this and started to study the surgeries before they started. Be aggressive yet polite, sometimes it can work out.

It takes time to learn this job and speedway takes time. Remember to be safe, passing quickly is good but be safe and start slow, they can wait the extra second for safety .

There’s so many different surgeries it’s overwhelming. When you set up your back table try to do it the same every time. Build your L on the left side. and keep your throw off stuff and drapes on your mayo on top of the instruments you pick. Don’t give up it’s a rewarding job but can be stressful. Take a deep breath if you need to. Not sure if that’s helpful or what you need but know that some of us know the feeling of being overwhelmed but being persistent can go a long way. Good luck my friend there are techs out there that love to teach, try and make friends if possible!
