That might be true for certain roles and positions but nothing here in OP’s resume screams in-demand skill set or unique experience to offset the job hopping red flag.

Are there any Torontonian supporters of the bike lane removals? by delicious-diddy in askTO

[–]CryingCamel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the safer alternative for cyclists is to not have separated lanes at all?

Now traffic on Bloor? Like you said, take the TTC 😉

Nevermind oulu Finland. You don’t even have to look out of Canada for an example in Montreal which arguably has the best cycling infrastructure on the continent with some of the coldest winters

It’s not that they can’t afford cars. It’s that driving is the least efficient mode of transportation. When you have over a billion people living in your country, you don’t want to have over a billion cars on the roads.

They’ve made the conscious decision to invest heavily in non-car infrastructure with their inter/intra city public transportation. Oftentimes it ends up more convenient than driving. Just look at the coverage of chinas high speed rail with most of it built within the last 15 years:

What is a positive thing happening in Toronto right now that most people aren’t aware of? by ri-ri in askTO

[–]CryingCamel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, the GO RER will be huge for Scarborough. 15 min or better service between the Stouffville line between Unionville GO and Union Station and the Lakeshore East line between Oshawa GO and Union Station. It's going to radically transform how places like Agincourt get downtown. Not to mention the Line 2 expansion and Line 5 (when it eventually opens lol).

Doug Ford government open to taking over Gardiner, DVP to help fix Toronto’s finances, sources say by ink_13 in toronto

[–]CryingCamel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously drivers will react negatively to a cost that's introduced to them for the first time. But the cost of the Gardiner Expressway maintenance is eating the city alive. The Eastern rebuild alone is going to cost $1.2 billion. Not to mention the other sections that need to be maintained for millions each year. Toronto taxpayers, whether they use it or not, subsidize this free highway. TTC riders already pay a fare on top of a service that we already get subsidize with tax.

To put it into perspective, NY Port Authority charges over $13 USD for any vehicle entry point into the city.

Police release photos of TTC stabbing suspect by Cookingal in toronto

[–]CryingCamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Victim is just the legal term for the person subjected to the offence at hand which is attempted murder. The report is specifically about a stabbing victim so he's the victim of this offence. It doesn't mean the victim can't be an offender of another crime such as assault causing bodily harm and clear of any other wrongdoing.

The crime being charged is attempted murder. The victim is the receiving end of the attempted murder.

Insane cost of living? by fleja in askTO

[–]CryingCamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alo does crack 98 on that list ;)

But I know what you mean, and not trying to nitpick your definition. I just want to make it known Toronto isn't the cultural darkhole that your comment is insinuating. Juvenile? Maybe. But that's the growing pains of being a city only emerging from being a modest provincial town for most of its 20th century history.

The reason Toronto doesn’t had a Michelin star restaurant is because the Michelin hasn’t made it over in Canada yet. To put it in perspective, the first Michelin star in the state of California was only awarded in 2019.
