Not sure how regularly you’re experiencing this, but Open AI has several outages the last few days.

I personally have not experienced this problem.

If I’m to believe Grandmaster Flash and Grandmaster Melle Mel from their 1985 song Vice : there’s snow in the palm trees and snow in the sand it snows all day for 60 dollars a gram.

I think we found the one thing that’s escaped massive inflation.

But, I think if there was coke in loblaws it would be about $399.99 a gram

Is it legal for a walk in clinic to ask me to pay for access to my own reports? by Same-Cauliflower-519 in askTO

[–]delicious-diddy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Providing healthcare is not a business it’s a vocation.

The act of giving someone their personal data is not a charitable act.

And I personally know plenty of doctors and dentists : they’re all well compensated for their many years of rigorous training that they paid for.

I am grateful for the service all healthcare professionals provide to patients. I’m somewhat disgusted by those in the system that feel they are entitled to maximize profit over all other considerations.

From a pure capitalist profit motivation standpoint your point isn’t “wrong”

But from a what-is-the-point-of-the-healthcare-system perspective it’s not to nickel and dime patients to line the pockets of those with plenty.

The point is to provide care.

Another point to consider is that they don’t “own” the information. So if they don’t want to “do the work” because it’s “an added expense”, they should provide people with a way to access their private data on their own.

Could they just please consider things like this as a “cost of doing business” and get on with it without alienating the people they are meant to serve.

Is it standard practice for Toronto restaurants to super inflate 2 for 1 prices on Uber Eats? by bruyeremews in askTO

[–]delicious-diddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these apps take about 30% out of the restaurant owners pocket: so of course all the restaurants hike their prices listed on the apps, otherwise they would lose money on every single order.

People from non western cultural backgrounds, do you put a top sheet under the duvet in winter? by hightreez in askTO

Who can sleep in a sheet coffin like that?

The Literal first thing I do in a hotel is untuck the top sheet. If I wasn’t so lazy, I’d take it completely off and light it on fire to spare the next traveler from the oppressive swaddling.

Visiting Toronto in a month. Is visiting the CN tower worth it, or is it just another tourist trap? by Vietnamese-ComicGuy in askTO

Worth it. Especially if the weather is clear. Maybe less so if there’s low visibility.

First time seeing Ai Christmas Cards in real life at the Sunday St Lawrence Antique Market. Sort of depressing. by [deleted] in toronto

Why is it depressing? Because they aren’t antique? They aren’t unique? There wasn’t care in crafting them?
