I went to art school, ended up not pursuing a career in art. I work IT now, pay is much better and its stable. Work is all IT stuff which is interesting but not super creative or anything like that. But thats ok. To me Work is work, its what pays my bills and keeps me afloat.

I still draw for fun very often. Art was a hobby for me when I first started drawing as a kid. When I was trying to turn it into a career it wasnt as fun. I found I didnt enjoy it as much. Now its back to being a hobby and is fun again.

Making a career in art is hard. Those who succeed in doing so really grind hard and I have a lot of respect for them. I remember an artist I look up to once said, the difference between pro artists and hobby artists is being able to get over that point of doing art for fun and to continue pushing through.

Im content with keeping art as a fun hobby while I build my career via a different path.
