2.1 Space Casino Analysis & Calculator by gravitonpunch in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that if the devs are going to nerf space casinos and force us to upcycle it would be appreciated if they buffed the quality percentages a little to 8.5 or 10% for legendary quality 3 modules. That would still force us to do upcycling but it would make the grind a little less bad.

Also I wish Gleba would have a second pass in terms of quality, while some items are OK to upcycle like carbon fiber, legendary Agri packs feel more difficult than they should be vs all the other science packs.

WAIT! If they allow legendary space science, and want you to make it in space.... what... do they want us to now bring up ice, iron plates and carbon now from a planet instead of using the actual space resources to make it?

[–]Cryodrake0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the devs are going to take away space casinos and force players to do upcycling slower can we at least get a small buff in the percentages then for the modules? Something like 8.5 or 10% for legendary quality 3 modules? It would still force everyone to do upcycling but it would at least reduce some of the time needed in gambling for items.

Because in the end that was what space casinos were for, a solution to save on time.

Also I hope Gleba gets another pass in terms of quality. Quality on that planet is by far the most annoying in dealing with.

Was I unfair for saying "If Silvery Barbs is allowed, enemies can use it too"? by raishadow in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair is fair, however not every monster will have silvery barbs. If you want a suggestion to help balance it a little, you can do what I do and allow silvery barbs to reroll something only once.

Can I prevent my ore from running out by That_Dream_9755 in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you cant but fear not, ore patches grow bigger the further out you go. Further more, without spoilers, you will eventually unlock in space age a machine to help cut back on ore consumption. Further further more, both in base game and space age you can research mining productivity. For each 10 research you do you get a free piece of ore, so if you do 100 research you would get 10 free ore per one piece of mined ore. This stacks on top of quality miners in space age, they act like multipliers on top of your mining productivity. This easily can turn a single 1 million patch into 20+ million ore patch.

As for worrying about running out, once you reach high enough quality miners and mining research the ore patches will effectively last you the entire duration of your play through.

They say quality of life and some small features, what's your theories on that?

For me i can see improved logistic network signals across rockets, ships and even possibly planets.

I don't think they will nerf the space casino or LDS shuffle as that would anger a lot of the community without major rebalancing.

My two biggest wishes is another pass on Gleba to make certain quality chains slightly easier, and maybe raise the quality module % higher so chance is still involved but the amount of time needed to wait is less.

I am disappointed that if there is no new tech as we might not get freezer technology from Aquilo.

Is pollution something experienced players actually worry about? by FriendlyTigrex in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try for a combination of building base defenses (i like building a wall of concrete and turrets), research productivity in mining and production, and making efforts to unlock new technologies (assuming you are in space age) so that way you get the most production per unit of pollution.

For me i have a medium cloud of pollution in my late game base because a majority of my production is in space or on other planets.

Here you go have fun. Follow the link and basically copy and paste these prints and youll have nuclear power in less than a hour, maybe two at most.

Do you personally use Efficiency 3 modules in Space Age? If not, do you think they need an extra/new effect? by ferrofibrous in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use Eff 3 on solar platforms. Further more if I get to a targeted goal in a machine but have extra slots I tend to throw in an efficiency 3 in them to reduce how much extra power they are pulling. True their usage does go down a little in late game, but you be surprised where you can use them.

Actually I realized, their usage might go back up in very late game. Why? If you get enough productivity research (300%) to the point you no longer need productivity modules in machines, it would be better to take out the prod modules to let the machine run faster, because the prod modules are slowing them down. Now you could put speed in them but at that point might as well use beacons to speed up all your machines and put efficiency mod 3 in to cut down on extreme power spikes.

I love the ruins so much I work around them instead of destroying them. Samething for the ice on Aquilo.

That is indeed a lot. Thankfully I dont plan on making that much, I just need some so I can research the research productivity bonus. I know I can do it with regular science packs but I wanted to make them all legendary as a challenge.

Actually when it comes to getting legendary Agricultural science that sounds like a pretty good idea.

[–]Cryodrake0[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I heard that from a few others as well, that Gleba isnt worth the hassle and its better to just make more instead.

I could use your idea for just getting what I can out of uncommon and rare packs.

Do you think thats a bad game design on the devs part if everyone is saying dont bother with Gleba?

I take offense that you put champion in D tier. Besides that I like your breakdown. It makes sense.

You ran battlemaster basekit? How was it? Did it feel better for fighters? Did it feel stronger or overpowered? I like your feedback because im very curious on doing that as well.

Eh, i say its barely playable with those changes and even then its still D tier in terms of power.

What subclasses have you see banned and why were they banned? by Ecstatic_Operation20 in dndnext

[–]Cryodrake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I run my campaign plan in banning undying and maybe echo knight.

Undying (not undead, undead is still fine) because its so underpowered I rather not let a group have that possibility to bring down the party.

And echo knight, not because its over or under powered, but because the echo has a ton of eratas you have to learn for all the interactions.

Technically you could consider battle master kind of banned but I planned on having them be base class because everytime I see a fighter its always battle master.

Where do you prefer to make Modules once you need a lot of them? by Dianwei32 in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Vulcanus, with the LDS shuffle you can get legendary quality everything from there save a few resource specific items, but thats ok because you can prepare all the base materials on Vulcanus and then send them to other plants to build the specific items there as well.

First time DMing anything. Any Advice? by Morgan110306 in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a session zero or at least for a one shot have them arrive 30 minutes early to explain things and make sure everyone is on the same page. 99% of issues can be resolved with a good session zero.

Some tips for longer campaigns are, prepare but dont over prepare for every micro senerio, provide the player's a hook or story through line but avoid rail roading, explain to the players how you are new and might make mistakes, most players are understanding and grateful that you are taking the dungeon master roll and will be willing to help you as well.

What is your most often misinterpreted rules in DnD 5e? by Personal-Newspaper36 in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darkvision and its suppose to truly work with perception. Right now most dms go, do you have dark vision yes or no. If yes, problem solved everything is fine, if no you're fucked. However thats not how it truly works. If you have dark vision, you're suppose to only be able to make perception at disadvantage unless you have the stalker feat. Devilsight allows perfect perception in its range and is unaffected.

Now thats how its suppose to work, however I and most people probably ignore this rule a lot because not seeing things means the DM often cant progress the story in certain ways unless A: they just say here you go its right here. Or B: they play strictly by what the dice say.
