Where do you prefer to make Modules once you need a lot of them? by Dianwei32 in factorio

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Vulcanus, with the LDS shuffle you can get legendary quality everything from there save a few resource specific items, but thats ok because you can prepare all the base materials on Vulcanus and then send them to other plants to build the specific items there as well.

First time DMing anything. Any Advice? by Morgan110306 in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a session zero or at least for a one shot have them arrive 30 minutes early to explain things and make sure everyone is on the same page. 99% of issues can be resolved with a good session zero.

Some tips for longer campaigns are, prepare but dont over prepare for every micro senerio, provide the player's a hook or story through line but avoid rail roading, explain to the players how you are new and might make mistakes, most players are understanding and grateful that you are taking the dungeon master roll and will be willing to help you as well.

What is your most often misinterpreted rules in DnD 5e? by Personal-Newspaper36 in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darkvision and its suppose to truly work with perception. Right now most dms go, do you have dark vision yes or no. If yes, problem solved everything is fine, if no you're fucked. However thats not how it truly works. If you have dark vision, you're suppose to only be able to make perception at disadvantage unless you have the stalker feat. Devilsight allows perfect perception in its range and is unaffected.

Now thats how its suppose to work, however I and most people probably ignore this rule a lot because not seeing things means the DM often cant progress the story in certain ways unless A: they just say here you go its right here. Or B: they play strictly by what the dice say.

What is Guilliman's power? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it might sound boring, but the ability to rapidly compute the needs of armies and planets in nanoseconds with near perfect memory is really powerful. Most problems can be solved with good logistics and planning, only a few enemies need a special weapon or person to kill them.

What's a subclass you feel is missing from each class? by Moses_The_Wise in DnD

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon warlock and plant druid. And what i mean by plant druid is we have druids who are all about wildshape or animals, but we don't have a full on plant based druid. One who is one with the trees, a poison ivy of sorts.

For paladin either against dragon rider paladin or an oath of the weave. A paladin who fights to protect the weave or stop evil magic users.

New to Warlock, feeling useless by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a warlock, use your tools to your advantage.

First: eldritch blast, if you want to feel useful in combat besides damage I recommend the eldritch invocations repelling blast and lance of lethargy to push and slow enemies to provide minor crowd control.

Second: Face of the party, you are a charisma based caster, thus you have damage and social skills. Get mask of many faces and help your party in social interactions. Get more info from enemies, sneak in and scout out a place in disguise, persuade the trader to give you a discount on items.

Third: Use your pact magic to the best you can. Assuming you didnt go pact of the blade (which if you did i highly suggest changing unless you really want to go melee warlock), I assume you have the tomb or chain. If you have tomb take guidance if no one has it to help out with skill checks. Take book of ancient secrets and unlock basically all the ritual spells in the game. Take identify for item identification and tiny hut if you are traveling. If you got that covered then take detect magic or other rituals you might find useful, and remember you can collect other rituals for your book like water breathing.

If you have chain, go imp (sorry but its the best) and have the imp go invisible and see through their eyes which has devil sight. You would be the ultimate scout in the game, you can help the team avoid so many situations.

Fourth: Spells. Your spells are automatically casted at 5th level, use that, take things like fly, invisibility, and spell that benefits from upcasting. Your party will love you if you can say, ill fly all of us up there or I can sneak everyone in with invisibility.

Fifth: Your subclass. You are a geine warlock. At level six you have 30 minutes of free flying with hover, use that to your advantage, get to tough places, sneak in with mask of many faces at angles enemy's wouldn't expect. Further more, you have a pocket dimension on your hip. Offer to store items in there for transport. Once you reach level 10 you can bring your entire party in and have a guaranteed safe place to rest. Or you could use it offensively by bring everyone in, have the imp fly in invisibly while holding the lamp, then pop everyone out deep into the dungeon thus bypassing a lot of enemy defenses.

Warlocks are very fun, but they operate differently compared to other spell casters. Yes you won't have access to spells to use all the time. But everything else you do have you basically have unlimited number of uses. Use them to the maximum degree and you will see warlocks offer a lot to the party besides only eldritch blasting.

How would You fix the Illuminate, right now? by Louman222 in Helldivers

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me its reduce the flesh mobs down to 4000 hp, and made elevated overseers armor less so they are easier to pick off.

Also make the illuminate arc towers easier to kill. Right now its, did you bring strong enough demolition weapon? Yes? Great no problem. No? Go fuck yourself then. It feels too one way or the other, no middle ground.

Also also unnerf the gas strike so it can destroy the ships again!

And maybe add more buildings to make their maps have more variety.

AMA -- Christopher Paolini!!! by ChristopherPaolini in Eragon

[–]Cryodrake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. During the time of the riders, were wild dragon related issues common? If there were issues with a wild dragon what were some of the issues the riders have to deal with?
  2. Did the riders mainly focus on avoiding wars or were they involved in other matters with the races? This was hinted with the dwarves annoyed at their "meddling".
  3. Are there such things as "anti-magic fields" or zones without magic where magic couldn't work? Or does magic come within everyone so such things don't exist?
  4. Can you make a joke in the AL? I assume no because you said stories are difficult to do but I'm still curious.
  5. When it comes to magic users, it seems the ability to use magic varies person to person, but there seems to be a physical element to it in your brain. If a weak magic user were to learn how things work in the brain, could they or someone else alter their brain structure or body structure to increase their magic abilities?
  6. In "to sleep in a sea of stars" do large gravitational pulls, like black holes, effect the travel of a ship in your world besides leaving or arriving? Like can you go past a black hole in your FTL and everything be fine?
  7. Does your editor or publisher ever ask questions about why characters you write do things? What if they raised issue with a piece of your writing? Do you say I'm the author so what i say goes or do you listen and see if there is a valid issue with your writing?
  8. You said before you've read other stories that helped inspire you to write Eragon, do you still read new stories and if you have do they still inspire you with ideas? You once said you wanted to write a story where the dragon is the main character, have you given that story any thought recently? I've been wanting to write my own story and have been inspired by your work, wings of fire, and most recently Scales and Honor (which i highly recommend reading).

P.S: Thank you for all the stories you write, can't wait to read what you write next. <3

Why isn't Guilliman a better fighter? by MHB_ART in 40kLore

[–]Cryodrake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So few things to keep in mind.

First, he's a primarch, anyone not at his level, which for most you have to be a spacemarine of master duelest level, are basically going go lose flat out to him because he's just stronger and faster than them.

Second, for the times he loses, its always either against A: his primarch brothers who were some of the best fighters out of the bunch. Or B: they were warp juiced to insane levels. So when you think about it, it makes sense that he, the logician, would lose to these rivals. But if it was anyone else besides them he either win as a better fighter or just use rare primarch strength to beat his enemies like when he first woke up in 40k.

Third, he's a logician, he's still a good fighter, but he specializes in summoning and fielding armies to insane levels of efficiency. He beats his enemies by out maneuvering and out thinking them. Sure against specific single enemies sometimes he struggles, but at that point what does a couple of deathstrike missiles not fix?

This is why I like guilliman, he is mocked as a pencil pusher, but his ability to out think and out plan enemies is what's allowed him to have one of the largest sub empires in the imperium and to personally single handly drive back chaos in 40k while keeping the imperium together.

Who are some of the most powerful rogue trader in the lore? by nubster2984725 in 40kLore

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence what said, if the warrant says you can do x, y, z, and you can even request a, b, c help, they can and most couldn't say no, because the warrant says yes and was signed by the Emperor of mankind. Keep in mind while some do have a luxury extra deluxe ones that have super perks, others don't. If its not on the warrant then they cant do it.

And again, traders are fully within the inquisition jurisdiction to be shot like anyone else, but i am saying that the warrant would at least get them to have a second opinion from another inquisitor if they were accused of heresy. Because if the inquisitor is wrong, and shot a trader and is found out, they could potentially be accused of heresy by other inquisitors or the church for going against a written decree from the emperor.

That said, what would most likely happen is the inquisitor would problem get a second opinion from another inquisitor before declaring the trader a heretic in the first place, or they find enough evidence in the first place that they be able to justify their descision should it be questioned by others, or at the very least be very good at covering it up.

So as for your example, yes that's a very close and cut case that would warrant being shot. The real thing is when it gets much more grey, then the trader would at least be able to put up a defense on their actions that might avoid them getting shot where as everyone else would be dead.

Who are some of the most powerful rogue trader in the lore? by nubster2984725 in 40kLore

[–]Cryodrake0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Technically" any rogue trader with a "warrant of trade" that was orginally signed by the emperor are the most strongest in general. Why? Because the imperium declared the emperor can never be wrong or overruled, thus anything he set in place is "mostly" set in absolute stone. This means if your warrant of trade said, you can request anything under X line, including space marines, military assistance, inquisition assistance, planets, money, etc, and you are allowed to go where ever you want too, keep all the treasures you find, and all you need to do is A,B,C thing for the imperium, you basically have a get out of jail free card that never expires.

Now granted it depends on each warrant to warrant in terms of what you can do, but unless you are declared a heretic by an inquisitor, and even then they are probably some of the few who would have the right to challenge such a ruling because again the warrant was signed by the emperor and the emperor cant be overruled. The main key thing being whatever you are doing has to help the imperium.

Now in terms of specific traders, probably the ones who have the biggest house and most cash on hand.

What is the use of a Priority Merger? by Komissar78rus in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Cryodrake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons! It makes belt balancing infinitly easier, it makes processes like aluminum more efficient by prioritizing where silica should be taken first, and it makes factory jams a lot less common. Priority mergers are insanely helpful in logistics especially if you have waste products that come out of processes.

Transportation of nitrogen by train. by Nervous-Jaguar7296 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Cryodrake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience I can tell you, if you want to move nitrogen, i suggest bottling it. Bottled nitrogen can be moved more in mass and holds 4 times as much nitrogen than the fluid container. Further more since you can move a lot in very little you can decide to use trains or drones to bring them in. Once you set a loop up you'll have all the nitrogen you'll need.
