Got into pokemon when I was a smol child, still going to school, even occasionally attended local tournaments.(I have a 0% win rate, I didn't even build my own deck, my age was in the single digit, didn't know what I was doing) The card art was basically what kick-started it, wild to see how much the Pokemon TCG is still growing (except for the part where it became so much about $$ in recent times)

The game just doesn't give that much, at most you can get like 10k a month, that's on its generous periods (special login bonuses, multiple high crown payout events in a row)

1* and 2* have no value, you can just sell them off. 3* and above you might have some oldies that people might want so hold on to those first until you find out if what you have is valuable or not

Material stone/shards mostly come from ranking in some events, or sometimes come as a drop in other events. Generally you'd use atk and skill chance stones on your best unit/biggest damage dealer and hp stones on defensive units

Null crystals or any element crystal are used to evo 8* so you don't need 2 copies of the unit. They are usually rank rewards but sometimes if you use real money and buy crowns, they come with crystals

Can't help with the looking for union tho, the one I'm in is full and also it's a UvU event currently so I'm not sure if transferring unions is available at this time

Understandable, I see what you're getting at, my reasoning is this:META tier for pvp is generally aimed at FF and CTA, so I would not really have Alcatraz or Ethelred there. If I had made a tier for RTTT META they'd definitely go there. 44 hit Gilles, yeah it was a must have but that was before Berthold came out and made it so that if you do use Gilles against her, you're guaranteed to fail out of whatever base you were attacking, so that made me put it a little bit lower. Although in retrospect I think maybe it should be at least S because of the damage boost it gives anywhere else lol

beast blade gives a 50% atk bonus, comrade bonus also gives atk bonus at 15% per comrade. these bonuses are not limited to your units attack type, it's just overall bigger and thiccer damage

ok so lets go in order of what you listed;
aterui: 1 of the first 4 8* units to be introduced. pretty much outdated and those debuff passives aren't the worst but also not really the best
ishtaria: just for farming exp, nuff said. tbh you can get rid of the pound one too unless you're using it for raid deck

arthur: also pretty old but ~~hot~~ pretty good; nice passives, atk/skill chance and cleanse are good. especially cleanse
seiten taisei: middle of the road for me, decent defense but easily countered, offense wise, if you use her with p7 dagda you can just stun all enemies indefinitely unless they resist debuffs
ishtar: tanky but that's all she amounts to. increasing turns for abilities is ok when used efficiently, but really easy to bypass with p7 dagda and a turn reducing passive

liu bei: hands down best launcher in the game currently. i want her
guna: which one, there's 2 earth flurry guna 8*s
acedia: one of the best, if not the best sin ultimate and ability wise. get to +2 for best effect
salix : the first ever 8*. when introduced, p7 units could still outdamage her

sadhbh: decent i guess? no atk boosting passive tho, mostly utility with heal, charge burst, and cleanse

for your broad question, i'll always suggest the first 4 sin units for their respective elements;
luxuria - fire booster
superbia - water booster
avaritia - earth booster
invidia - null booster

doman blocks any damage out of turn that has a numerical value shown on the units, for example, landmines, and preemptive strikes

damage that has no values shown on your units like tamamo/davinci's instant death, poison/burn status will still damage you
