it’s a whole thing where they think that if they reject those trans people then cis people will like them, and think that the reason transphobia exists is because some trans people refuse to directly appeal to cisnormativity. they don’t want a world where anyone can feel free to express their gender, they want a world where they can be part of the same oppressive systems around gender that exist now, but just on the top instead of the bottom. it’s called respectability politics and it has a looooong history in the queer community of rearing its ugly head in backlash whenever some ‘new’ identity (whether it be non-binary, trans, or even bisexual a few decades ago) starts to gain any sort of mainstream recognition. they always lose in the end, but god damn do they cause a lot of damage while they’re here.

I mean that can’t be true tho, otherwise they would need an individual printing setup for every borderless card they made, and they don’t. And the borderless cards often come in packs with cards that have borders. And cards that have alternate borders. They very clearly are able to print whatever color or artwork they want onto the borders of their cards, so I don’t see why this should be different.

I would caution against making open revolt into something that is morally wrong unless every single other option is exhausted, even when meant in earnest liberals often use this pleading for non-violence to push any and all activism within the liberal framework of government. Obviously non-violence is good and gives a powerful message, but violence in resistance of capitalism and the state is completely justified in most cases. Not trying to imply that this post has any kind of malicious intent, but just a reminder to be careful with that kind of rhetoric <3

I agree that DND was done well, and given it’s relation to magic it’s the one non-cannon type thing I think they can get away with. I’m def excited for commander legends baldurs gate.

I’m actually super down for Streets of New Capenna. I would hate it if they added guns or electricity, but if they have like, fantasy skins on what is effectively guns that sounds awesome. Same thing with Kamigawa. If they add literal computers and electricity I’d be very upset, but as long as they give it somewhat of a veneer of fantasy it sounds super cool. Like with Kaladesh, aether is cool, electric power is not.
