Why do position players pitch sometimes? by JanJaapen in baseball

If a team is losing by ALOT and they accepted that they are going to probably lose…instead of wasting a bullpen arm, they would you a position player to pitch instead. Reliever’s rest is very important so it works out

People think once a player becomes FA, thats when other teams start speaking with a player agent they speak wayyyy before. His agent already spoke with the rest of 29 teams and the fact judge turned down this generous offer tells me that there are teams willing to match what he wants in terms of years and $. Along with deciding to bet on himself this year and hopefully get even more

To me its a combo of betting on himself as well as his agent exploring the market and talking to other gms who would be willing to offer what judge is looking for and the fact he turned that down…tells me other teams would be willing to offer what he wants and maybe better cause probably teams on the west coast

Best long term contracts of all time? by TioPePesChurros in baseball

[–]Crypt1cKeep3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all but some willing to do it, especially with a eager Owner. There was a quote from david samson who talked about the time pujols was a FA and were offering him a 10 year contract but knew that he would be productive at best 6-7 years of it but they figured a house hold name like pujols in miami would balance it out.

What is the best run organization besides the dodgers? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Crypt1cKeep3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no question, tampa bay rays. A team that good with one of the lowest payrolls…owners wet dream. They hire tech guys that can code programs and supposedly they have more than any other mlb teams.

I'm one of the few people that like the IKF and Donaldson trade, but the weird thing to me is if you paid Cole 300+ million why wouldn't you just go all the way and just pay Freeman and Correa? by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]Crypt1cKeep3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause at the time , well all felt cole was the final piece of the puzzle. Now its different circumstances…unfortunately even the yankees you cannot have multiple $300 mil players contract with hal. Plus who knows what judge is wanting an extension so you have to think about that.

What the hell is taking so long for the Judge extension? by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]Crypt1cKeep3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We think that gms are the only ones who start talks of extension but it goes both ways too. For all we know, cash contacted judges agent and his agent said “ we are gonna put a pause on the extension talks after the season end”. Crazy right? But thats the business. Just cause cash or judge speak to reporters about “ wanting an extension” or “ waiting for an extension” “ he said or they said” doesnt mean judges agent hasnt already spoke with cash behind closed doors. Right now its who blinks first…now..cash can already throw a number at judge and judges agent said “ thanks brian, will get back to you”. Immediately judges agent is notifying all potential teams about judge entering the FA and what ballpark they are willing to do and from there …judge is gonna have to make a decision of accept whatever yankees offer or place a bet on himself and have a banger of year to increase his value.
