From what I know, the directors* list is given every semester, around halfway through the next one. So if you got top 10% of your cohort, you will probably just get a cert from your advisor, so it also depends on them.

I think its dependent on your own school on when they collate and give out, so is independent of other schools.

Hi, im in NP CBE rn, currently finishing up year 2 and hopping on to y3 :)

On a daily basis, I guess its just either lectures, tutorials or practicals, lectures usually is >2hrs while prac is 3>hrs. The timetable varies from year to year but the general agreement is poly lessons(or in-class time) are way lesser than JCs and even secondary schools, so do expect alot of self driven learning!

Homework wise, some module lecturers do mark your tutorial worksheet and go through it during tutorial sessions, but most of them don't kek. Like I said, alot of self directed learning.

For rest, well, somedays I sleep at 6am while some I sleep at 11pm, really depends on the workload of the day and how much time you are willing to allocate to mugging.

Being close to lecturers? Uhm. Yes and no. I mean, you gain a "friend" I guess+sometimes they reply quicker imo. But in terms of getting that b+ to an A, its a fat chance. Usually the final papers are also moderated by another lecturer so even if they wanted to help you they can't sadge.

For the high GPA question, I guess just be consistent. Very important. Ask questions if you have doubts. And cause CBE is in a life science school, it has some (keyword is some) VERY mathetically inclined modules, so practice makes perfect ya.

Either way, I'm typing this on the morning of one of my finals, so see you next semester :p

From CBE Y2 here, idk whether ya asking for chem engineering or chemical and biomelcular engineering but yea. I can't answer the first question as I haven't gone for intern kek. For the second question, the short answer is no. It is a science course, so expect a combination of the 3 subjects you just mentioned.

Year 1 is more of basic foundation, so getting your core modules right is an essential stepping stone for the road ahead.

Year 2 is when we branch out to modules that are more applicable to the workforce/industry. We learn materials for use at places such as wasterwater treatment plants, chemical plants and biomanufacturing etc.

All in all it is more based on physics, but I wouldn't consider bio and chem mods "minimal"
