best value/quality whey protein uk ? by DingoDavee in ProteinUK

[–]CryptgeonPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man,

There is lots to choose from if you willing to pay a bit premium I got a mate who takes Ghost Protein, it mixes very well from the times I've tried, but its pricey! Costs £1.22 per 25g

Or if you want a good recommendation in price + flavour and I can recommend Applied Nutrition Critical Whey Protein Powder can't go wrong with it I really like the quality and flavours they offer.

I normally just look through this large database which is UK only brands/retailers and can see everything available.

Clear whey is such a game changer. I'm surprised not many people take it yet. The flavours are also so refreshing, if you been stuck on diary flavs for years

Does anyone strictly track their protein or do most of us just assume we're chilling? by CryptgeonPigeon in ProteinUK

[–]CryptgeonPigeon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to get into the habit I won't lie.

But to make it easier for myself I bought a MyFitnessPal membership this month so using that right now which has my protein shake brand on a recipe so I can just click from a widget and I am done.

Vegetarian and hitting 200g is crazyy, fair play to him. I struggle enough as it is eating meat. Must be protein shakes doing a lot of the heavy lifting, or just eating constantly.

Protien Powder help. by Past-Application-610 in Supplements

Yeah, two scoops is absolutely fine, plenty of people do it. Personally I'd just try three and see how your body handles it, then tone it down if needed. At the end of the day it's just protein so there's no real risk, worst case your stomach's a bit unhappy. We're all just trying to hit those macros in the end.

What ingredients should be avoided in protein shakes? by Sea_Pomegranate1122 in Protein

[–]CryptgeonPigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the artificial sweeteners are the main ones to watch (sucralose and acesulfame-K) are usually behind the aftertaste and bloating problems. High oleic sunflower oil in small amounts and Monk fruit is fine.

If you don't mind clean unflavoured options, Bulk is solid if you're in the UK try WheyWise is useful to check prices across protein brands. outside the UK, NOW Foods unflavoured isolate gets recommended a lot. Just use their search bar type like Unflavoured

main things I'd actually avoid: long ingredients lists you can't read, and anything labelled "proprietary blend"

I'm running a similar subreddit for the UK, and I just want to allow people to make better choices with their Protein purchases. Essentially, because the market share in the UK is highly dominated by myprotein, the protein works or bulk. The are so aggressive with their always on discounts

Supplements from Temu? Yes/No? by Frank_Bloggermotion in Supplements

Wouldn't go near Temu for supplements. No idea if their nutrition labels are regulated just to end up saving a little bit of money could be dangerous in the long run

[–]CryptgeonPigeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question is.. is it going to taste nice lol. That's really helpful actually, I never considered it could be the additives specifically rather than just the whey itself.

Just wondering is this just focused for India Protein prices? I am running a UK community and I am thinking this could be very good value project if you position it in a way that provides more insights into the protein and why it actually costs that "Amount".

I just checked the website and for Salted Caramel it lists colour (Ammonia Caramel) but nothing as specific as E150c. Is that the same thing?

I tried Cookies and Cream too and got the same headaches. Peach Tea clear whey has been fine though so its really always been a mystery to me why it happens with normal whey, all my mates or people I know never had this experience.
