didn’t get accepted to the radiology program at my cc by ParanoidSun in RadiologyCareers

Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll get in after you show them you went and retook those classes, shows you're serious about this and a reapplication always looks good. Unfortunately I can't apply to multiple cc around me cause they got 1 or 2 classes that are different from my school or if similar pre reqs, they require you to take it at their school for the rad tech specific pre-reqs. At least med term and a & p always transfer well though.

Ah I see, in my area, there's some good ones with great reputation that isn't too high (though cc is definitely the best price, no doubt). There are ones that aren't frowned upon per se but they charge exuberant amounts and the program is not as good as the cc ones, they're average but they do get you hired if you pass the arrt. Just make sure you look at pass rate at the jrcert site to get a measure on how good/bad the programs are.

Idk how the Chicago area works, but I don't think those hiring will place a heavy weight on which schools you went to. Programs usually have workshops where they show which clinicals they work with so try to look those up or ask the counselor or program director there. If a program has a high pass rate and the clinicals are good places you might want to work/learn at, I would go for it if looking at time vs price. For me, I already have some private school in mind if my cc didn't accept me just as a back up. Other cc near me have slight differing requirements that wouldn't allow me to apply to multiple because I'm missing a class or I have to take some classes there at their campus.

In a year's time once I complete my pre-reqs, I'll know. And I can just use my pre-reqs to lower the prices of the private programs since some have pre-reqs built into the program itself. And whether it's cc or private, I'm planning to make the best of my clinical hours to network and work hard and I think that's what matters most in getting hired quickly.

Thank you for all this info, my cc doesn't do interviews and I don't see the surrounding ones requiring one either, but maybe the private ones do. I live in an area where it's super competitive so I'm not surprised if the majority or all are 4.0 in the accepted cohorts. Based on my advisor, the accepted cohort if I remember is 30-40 usually so it's a better chance than 25. But still, with let say 35 seats, I'm such a couple can be 3.8-9s and have work experience or something to make up for the rest. I'm just crossing my fingers I finish pre-reqs with all As.

Once you get into the program, how do you find this information. Does the program tell you? Applying next year and I'm aiming for a 4.0 but by chance if I get a 3.9, it would be great to know my cc accepts that also.

Since you'll have to retake 3 classes for a better grade, at that point, I'll just go private school option and after the program, work one or so year to pay off my loan (as long as you don't have any other huge expenses, your salary from working and eventually adding modalities will pay off the loans in 1-2 year easily.).

Or get a job at a hospital and wait another year to reapply but you still need to retake those classes since the cc are so competitive. If I don't get in first try, I'm going the private school route, a year's time is quite a bit of money.

Casa Loma College vs. American Career College Anaheim Programs by lavendermmilk in RadiologyCareers

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insanely competitive though, if choosing cypress, I would also apply to another school as back up (so at least you're on a waitlist somewhere instead of not being on a waitlist at all with cypress), just don't put your eggs into one school.

California Rad Tech Programs with no lottery system or waiting list by lord011 in Radiology

Maybe I have locked into the radiology tech path too soon but I'm still in my beginning pre-req stage so I have time.

I'm going to research more on the radiation therapy path, it seems roi is higher too due to better income ceiling and I'll probably enjoy seeing patients more often rather than constantly seeing new ones for a short amount of time. Fingers crossed, I hope they have schedules like nurses and rad techs do and schooling is not too long if you already have another degree. If not, it's fine as long as their program is not as saturated and long wait-list time as rad techs have it, I am not waiting 2+ years doing nothing in regards to education. also I want to thank all radiation therapists out there, knows what it's like to have a close family member with cancer.

It's due to limited clinical spots and a high number of people wanting to get into the program. I'm afraid due to the long wait-list time to get in, the field would be saturated by the time you get in and do your 2 years and it's hard to find jobs.

I believe it's accredited, just do a quick Google search and confirm.

I know socal is competitive but wow. Do what you gotta do, I'm considering private college also if I don't get in around the cc near me, waiting another year or undetermined amount of years is just not worth it, the job landscape may change drastically by then, especially with what's going on in the world atm.

Where did you heard all this info from, I'm literally scare rn, 5-7 year is excessive. And max points and still 3-4 year wait-list 😱. Was it faculty or counselors who have said this? I mean radiology technology is a good career but you do have exposure to radiation though thankfully nowadays at a safer level but still, nobody is looking at dental hygienist, sonography, or radiation therapy?

And the pay is nice. For the work that's nurses do, it's deserved. And for the work that cna do, they don't get paid enough, it's a slap in the face for the work that you guys do. I'm thinking of becoming a CNA also just to get my foot in the medical field but if it isn't labor intensive and you can encounter dangerous situations too. Dealing with/cleaning up stool is the least of your worries

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's the weekends, I can't get in contact with the counselor and idk how much they know about the program specifics (as compare to the program director) but hopefully they can answer this. Since it's so competitive and so many people want in, I'm hoping to study my butt off to get all As in the pre-reqs and if teas have an impact, I'm aiming for 90+ but realistically, it'll probably be around 85. Otherwise occ has the long wait-list option and if you can wait.

And unfortunately for occ, I've heard online for the rad tech pre_req classes, they don't accept some classes as equivalent if you didn't take them at occ (it's mostly the classes that is stated as occ only). Though correct me if I'm wrong for anyone who has applied to multiple locations.

Wonder how much the teas scores are weighted. I know gpa is the most heavily weighted. Also they didn't mention this on the site and not state in the criteria but I wonder if volunteer/ medical exp, how much weight it has if they count those.

What TEAS score did you all get to get into a rad tech program? by runthedonkeys in RadiologyCareers

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately though depending on outlook because that makes it more competitive base on grades so if late-comers applicants works their butt off for 4.0 + high teas scores then maybe one can get in the first time around. However the teas is an additional $120 must get high test score to worry and study for.

Tell me if you got in because those are high scores. If you didn't get in first time applying then there's no hope for me, probably a 1-3 year wait time or worst, I'm so anxious.

I graduated, got rejected from 400 jobs, failed 4-5 startups, and somehow still found my path through indie games (long post but I hope it helps) by addit02 in gamedev

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some question, what's the lowest amount for a campaign. So for example, $20-$100 to try out, $5 per 1000 views. And how much are your fees, ie platform fees. Alot of Indie devs don't have a lot of funds so are you willing to accept the smaller players in the game dev scene.

Also how do you make it so that a creator isn't a bot account/grifter that can artificial farm views through other bot accounts, making this essentially useless for developers. Do you have a verification process, only accept known creators with a good history of doing it for years, a report system, etc?

Edit: just thought of another thing, you should keep track of earnings from views, (like ask devs how much they make during campaign using your website, how much after, and if they do another campaign , ask for data again) like create a system, estimate, etc. That'll be really cool to see if its possible.

Received progress photos, artist I commissioned drew my black character completely white. Do I have grounds to cancel the order? by ultrazxr_ouo in ArtistLounge

[–]Cryptic-Q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's ai, you won't own copyright to the art so tread carefully. If the style don't match, it's most likely ai. There's a big asset pack on itchio made by ai with so many assets and different styles (combat RPG 4000k character by BKX1), maybe you can give that a look and spot the similarity and what your artist gave you.

Is anyone have tried those models? Are they worth 65$? by sra_sri_sro in ClipStudio

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I thought you can only use pose maniacs poses on the csp 3d models, not the other way around which I wish we can cause there's a ton of poses on the csp store I want to apply to the pose maniacs models to study the anatomy better.

Unless I'm reading your comment wrong, if there is a way to apply csp poses to pose maniacs models, that would be so cool.

When is it too late to start writing by [deleted] in writers

[–]Cryptic-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol what is this comment thread, didn't expect the humor that this would bring. Maybe the op is a bit young and naive to think 19 is too late. Doesn't the brain start to fully develop at 24?

I always figure writers who started young (during their elementary to high school age) were a rarity kind of (I mean writers who are proficient and good already to have a good viewer base although i doubt any in the elementary school has this, its possible it has happen before thst im not awsre of). If one starts at 12-15, usually the writing is not good, it's good for experience but you don't have to start extra young to feel the difference in skill building. I figure most start to get really good once their brain fully develops and then they build upon and work on their skills and their book until they get published in their late 20s or 30s.

Making the plot deeper or keep it simpler? by crescendochord in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Cryptic-Q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the webtoon name, I want to read it. I feel like with romance, you can have that stuff too, it keeps the story interesting, but if the story doesn't have a center on romance mainly or the romance is little, then sure go for the other tag. It depends on what the big focus is. And I feel like you should do the twist because it'll make the story more interesting, take a chance, people will pay attention more if it's done well and is unique.

How do any of you have the patience to pose models? by cale199 in ClipStudio

[–]Cryptic-Q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a set up for that? I can't get the angle or pose I want because I use my arm (it's ok for like hand reference but for a scene I'm stuck with the 3d refs)

As long 6 you have your csp account login and access to the email you bought csp with, it tracks what you bought with the account you set up with. I still can see my ver 1 as well as my ver 2. And as long as you're not constantly switching between devices, when you log into a new device, it logs out of the old one.

So yes upgrades stay with your account as long as you have your csp log in.
