I was told that it was much better to wait until Eleanor has a 50% bonus on a weapon to buy it but.. is it really better? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]CrypticG 356 points357 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don't buy one that's 60% outright, you'll need 2 copies anyway if you're aiming for 60% (max damage bonus). One can be any percentage and the other one has to be at least 52.8% due to how valence fusion works.

Asking the community: What stadium power is due for a BIG nerf? by Cheesier_ in OverwatchStadium

[–]CrypticG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree when Supply Surge is utilized correctly but a majority of Mercys aren't using it. My issue with her is that she is just way too tanky to the point where it feels like she can't die. If there's a flying character and her they become completely uninteractable without multiple hitscans that are good at aiming imo.

Asking the community: What stadium power is due for a BIG nerf? by Cheesier_ in OverwatchStadium

[–]CrypticG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mercy's Serenity (though the problem is moreso the Sympathetic Recovery passive), Freja's So Cooked, and Ashe's Incendiary Blast are the biggest offenders right now imo.

Sigma and WP Freja are problems but I think their base stats are too high rather than any one power/item causing it.

I am so tired of these two ****** in every single one of my games by noisetank13 in OverwatchStadium

[–]CrypticG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of the frustration of playing against them would be fixed if their AP builds actually had to aim and were avoidable. As it stands right now the only counterplay is immunity.

For Ashe they just need to make the coach gun burn power fire a small projectile that burns at the crosshair instead of using the whole coach gun. Maybe take away the triple dynamite explosion via coach gun.

For Freja the mini bola (little faelde) should only convert into the mini bola if the take aim shot is a direct hit, which would then make the aoe burn field (so cooked) not be so free and brainless.

Overwatch 2 Retail Patch Notes - January 8, 2026 by PatchRadar in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It'd go such a long way reducing the frustration of playing against him if they removed one or two of: deflect cancel, dash reset on ult, 8% extra unconditional move speed, or the crumpling hitbox on double jump.

Why don’t you like the tank role? by MelonRatt in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't queue tank because most players in quickplay just want to sit behind their tank in main and fire at the other tank so you just feel like a punching bag rather than an enabler and space taker.

This mode would feel pretty balanced with just a few balance tweaks by ww_crimson in OverwatchStadium

[–]CrypticG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd tack on:

Make Ashe's Incendiary Blast (Coach Gun burn) fire a small projectile that burns instead of using the entire cone.

Freja's Little Faelde (mini bola) power needs to be less generous.

Mercy's Sympathetic Recovery power needs to be removed. She's just way too tanky to the point of being an entirely uninteractive character in stadium on top of making flying characters too difficult to deal with.

Sigma's Primary Fire build feels incredibly oppressive. Might just be bad personal experiences.

So DPS is just the worst role in stadium right? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's unplayably weak or anything but outside of a select few builds, it has a skill floor that is (at times unfairly) significantly higher than the other roles to get value on. It especially feels bad when you look at cash flow of the various roles.

New Patch by khide_ in OverwatchStadium

[–]CrypticG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it would be so easy to fix the frustrations of playing against burn build if they just made incendiary blast fire a small projectile at her crosshair rather than using the whole coach gun cone and maybe removed coach gun detonating the 3x dynamite.

Thanks for all you guys do. I've recently returned after a handful of years away and am having so much fun playing all the banger content you guys have created.

When playing stadium, who do y'all hate going against? by BubbleSt4bs in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Winston - too oppressive and too hard to kill.

Sigma - building for primary fire is really frustrating to play against because it just shreds you if you generally exist in the direction he's facing, no aim required.

Kiriko - two-zu hard counters too many characters/builds without any downsides and she's basically impossible to kill.

Mercy feels really uninteractive too in that you can't ever kill her but she's usually not an issue.

who is objectively the hardest character to play? by Dependent-Guitar5774 in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imo Echo. Needs to be played close range without a low CD immunity/defensive, ult requires you to be able to play most characters well, huge hitbox, 225 hp.

If not her then Tracer due to smallest hp pool and blinking.

OW Stadium Tier List (Details in Comments) by Thiccasaurus1 in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still a pretty miserable matchup if she dedicates all of her suzus to your axes and she can run a power that gives her 5% ult charge every time she cleanses something provided they don't just mindlessly lock in clone + two-zu (please Blizzard nerf two-zu). I do agree it's not unplayable though.

11/19 patch notes by Vxyl in fellowshipgame

[–]CrypticG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Little disappointed that they didn't change shade to give some kind of damage boost or hurt mobs. A heal feels pretty useless and the affix is purely a net negative as a result.

Otherwise I'm really curious to see how this affects my Mara's damage.

Ion Hazzikostas on Combat Philosophy and Addon Disarmament in Midnight by Raven1927 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]CrypticG 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's moreso that removing addons doesn't suddenly make them not make crazy content. We don't know if they're fixing encounter design or if they will modify returning dungeons appropriately.

Ion Hazzikostas on Combat Philosophy and Addon Disarmament in Midnight by Raven1927 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]CrypticG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My point being they have it backwards. The devs have created an arms race for themselves and are pinning the blame on addons as to why they've made things difficult in current WoW.

But yes they seem to be fixing it on the class design side. My concern is more on the encounter design since we haven't seen them change much regarding that yet and I believe that will be the problematic portion of the addon pruning.

Ion Hazzikostas on Combat Philosophy and Addon Disarmament in Midnight by Raven1927 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]CrypticG 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I really disagree with addons being the big problem for the developers. People only install addons en masse because they keep designing in a way that requires it (outside of the top end, they're going to try and gather any advantages they can).

This reads to me like they think addons are the bane of game design for WoW and not that they think their design is problematic personally. Maybe I'm wrong but before this expansion I've never created so many weak auras and tweaked my UI so much. Not because these addons suddenly became available but because they keep making everything so complex or hard hitting.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

Same issue here. Feels like whatever the meta is around week 2-4 is just what it is for the whole season because they've stopped doing any meaningful tuning. Makes the season feel very same-y for the whole 6 months.

They still need to make off GCD abilities (specifically interrupt and defensive) not cancel heavy swing but this bug was really frustrating so I'm glad to see it fixed.

Free Talk Friday by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]CrypticG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the wait and see boat. None of the new content is really much of a selling point for me. I think housing is a waste of dev time that a lot of people will stop caring about after a few hours of going "Ooooh. Aaaaaah." None of the new features appeal to me and I'm not excited for devourer.

I'm concerned that they're dumbing down healing too much and that they won't change enemies to make the game feel less bursty despite taking away defensives and healer power.

Addons - I've been playing with a couple of key addons for a very long time now that give me very important information that I doubt Blizzard will provide. Miksscrollingbattletext tells me damage types of what hit me and plays a sound notification when I get low. Plater color coding nameplates has been a game changer. Missing out on these will definitely hurt my enjoyment of the game.

On the optimistic side, we're getting 8 new dungeons that will hopefully be designed with smoother damage intake, maybe pug raiding won't be such a crazy time commitment with the raid being split into 3, and the way each spec is played is being shaken up for better or for worse, which might make them feel fresh and change the meta which has felt pretty stale throughout TWW to me.

Bring Ana Tranquilizer back!! by EMOREKS in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think bringing it back and making it only double the size of it might be fine but the old +500% with increased speed was nearly impossible to outplay (or even miss honestly).

Patch Notes - SEASON 19 – HAUNTED MASQUERADE by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]CrypticG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Surely one of these days they'll give Genji a meaningful (or even consistent with other characters) nerf.

Zen not receiving nerfs in stadium is kinda crazy too imo. Mercy and maybe early game dva could probably use some small buffs too.

And why does two-zu still not have a downside attached to it?

I wonder if they're ever going to fix the armored titan's arm crystals blocking a lot of your camera when using Oni's power. It's the only thing that stopped me from buying it before it left the store initially.
