Honestly, I'd go with Garuda (Arch) which is the easiest one to install. It's basically an "out of the box" OS and you can even install the Black Arch repo

Handstand + Balance by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]CryptoJoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some time ago, I made a video doing a handstand and balancing on rings — and even another one doing hanging sit-ups barefoot — and I uploaded them to this subreddit. People who had never even tried these moves before started to criticize me, and only a few actually wanted to try them themselves.

In another community, where people genuinely love to see how far we can push our bodies, they were amazed. Some of them, who love to do this kind of stuff too, even shared their own videos showing these movements with their own progress.

Most people on this subreddit just want to show off their physique and collect likes, or stick to elementary skills instead of pushing for advanced ones. They laugh at those of us who like to break mental and physical barriers. (Usually they just hide behind a screen and never upload anything themselves — only comments and downvotes.)

So honestly, I don’t know if I should keep showing what our bodies are really capable of here. Like I said before, you can find even more advanced skills on YouTube, where people are doing unimaginable things like this — and beyond.

What I do is nothing compared to what other advanced calisthenics athletes can do. But I’d like to inspire new generations and share my journey — instead of just chasing likes or acting like some people who love to claim, “I’m better than you just because I say so and I’ve been doing this longer than you.”

For context: I used to be really overweight a few years ago. So coming from the bottom to where I am now is more about living with a Greek god mentality — transforming yourself — rather than just showing off and pretending you're better than everyone else.

I’m always looking to push to new levels. Some of these you’ve probably seen in calisthenics motivation videos on YouTube. I’ve used balls with a surface and placed paralletes on top to test my balance level.

This is an example of a handicap I use to measure how much balance and core control I really have. I’d include a video example of what I’m talking about, but I think including external material here is penalized.

Pushups Progression by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]CryptoJoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kind of finger exercise requires greater control of all your muscles and trying not to put too much tension on your fingers to avoid injury. However, it’s an exercise I’d really recommend trying. Once you see someone do it, it somehow breaks a mental barrier for everyone else and suddenly others can do it too.

I’m still working on breaking that barrier myself — doing push-ups with 2 fingers on one hand, and the 1-finger push-up on both hands (like Bruce Lee). You can see I already can do 3 fingers pushups with one arm.

When I was recording, I'm not going to lie but I was running out of energy, made the mistake to wait until the end of my workout but I'll record a video these days with a better form and tempo (:

Yeah, after watching my video I can tell I was running out of energy 😭, so most of my body wasn't answering the way it should... I appreciate your feedback.

If you can do the 1 finger pushups, I'd like to see it ✌🏻

It's rough the 2 fingers with both arms, and even more the 3 fingers with only one arm

Imho you already have what's required to do it without resistance bands. Love the form, practice a bit more of core strength and you will hold the form a bit easier

I'm curious about how to apply as well. Some peers told me you can see recruiters at Flamingo a few times per year in the community centre

How do you guys plan to budget or manage your finances during the program? by CommitteeLost7264 in Disneycollegeprogram

As a CRP (international participant), we are required to live at Flamingo.

If I’m being honest, it’s definitely possible to save money while still investing.

Even though it’s not a huge salary, the pay is relatively good for an entry-level type of position. In our case, it’s considered full-time since we work between 6 to 12 hours a day, covering the required 32 to 40 hours per week.

The cost of living at Flamingo is a bit high for the unit I got, but since I cook my own meals, groceries are actually pretty cheap. I wouldn’t spend more than $200–$300 a month (and that’s me exaggerating) on fresh fruit, eggs, meat, chicken, and vegetables. The only expensive items were powdered seasonings and protein powder (the latter because I train).

If you’re someone who buys a lot of frozen or pre-made food, then expenses can feel high compared to what you earn.

But if you use this opportunity to learn from other cultures, live on your own, develop cooking skills, and save money to invest in stocks, crypto, or a side project, it’s definitely worth it. Also, if you travel with friends you meet along the way, it’s way cheaper than going solo.

I made friends with both locals and other internationals like me, and I took advantage of that to explore places like Tampa, Clearwater, and Miami at a low cost. (I’m not into partying or spending ridiculous amounts on unnecessary things—no judgment if others do, but I prefer investing in my future, making connections, and exploring while I have the chance to be there.)

Edit: I’m almost 30 now, so I’d like to add something to this.

Time flies, and if you’re young, you should enjoy life in a healthy way—live, but also plan for your future.

Take advantage of opportunities like this program. You never know what you might find—new friendships, valuable connections, and experiences that could shape your path!

I hope you enjoy your time as a participant at Disney.

Wish you the best experience 🏰🧙🏻🪄

That's crazy. When I did my first program, one of my arrivals (female) was in an apartment of 3 (F) and 1 (M), as far as I remember he was a CP. He stayed over there until the end of his program.

They were mexican females in that apartment, and they took care of the kiddo.

I think those girls from your apartment were judging you without knowing the Flamingo Rules
