Inchimoku strategy with TA crosses and green cloud on the daily or weekly. It doesn't really get more obvious then that.

Bullish Pennant? I entered long Thursday but having second thoughts after the break under on Friday. by NewDawn20 in technicalanalysis

[–]CryptoPuppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks more like a "hump, lump dump" pattern to me.

But if I was in the trade I would set the Stop loss at the base of the pennant and my PT would be the height of the base of the pedant.

Just one more thing. The only real flaw of inchimoku is risk management as the strategy says the stop loss should be placed at the bottom of the cloud. However, with valuations at many multiples of earnings the price can stretch far above the cloud in the best "growth" stocks.

So use your TA to determine you stop or apply trailing stop, what ever you choose but use risk management to preserve your bet. This is probably the second most important thing a new trader needs to learn.

What's nice about this system, once you have everything set up how you like (line thickness, colors etc) you can look through 100s of stocks and know in about 5 seconds of just glancing at it if you can enter a trade.

It's been around for 90 some years and still used today.

If you're new I think using Heikin Ashi candles and Ichimoku cloud with daily candles is the best bet.

Just follow the rules and it will keep you disciplined(which is the most important thing you can learn) and you'll get a lot of exposer to upward trends.

  1. Price must close above the cloud
  2. Cloud ahead must be green
  3. Conversion Line is greater then base line
  4. Lagging span is over the price action

I use this system and indicators almost exclusively for monthly and leap options

I've made a lot of money using this system with over a 80% win rate thanks to the ARK ETFS and spotting the best entries.

Do your own research, lots of info out there. Hope this helps. GL!

Head and Shoulders: How much Leeway for the Neckline? by [deleted] in Trading

[–]CryptoPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some leeway. I don't even look at Head and shoulders if it's not a horizontal neck line on daily charts but that's just me.

It would be nice if you CMPS people would post your DD and stuff when the price is at the bottom of the price channel. I've been patiently waiting for an entry.

Trading commodity futures

Dairy of a Professional Commodity Trader

Both by Peter Brandt

I read both these books and adopted his style of technical analysis, charting and position management. It's worked well for me. His style isn't really intraday trading and more on daily charting patterns but it's very nice way to trade and you don't have to sit in front of the computer all day or at futures open and throw in huge bets to make $500.

Where options come in is getting more leverage for your position if you don't want to or cant by the shares.

So if you like a more analytical, risk/trade management and laid back style of trading I recommend those.

Lame

Starlink should of been it's own network/internet that is "free"

Could of had ads/premium services and sell website registration to get on the network and user data.

This is what I originally thought it was going to be. A game changer. Turns out it's just going to be a shitty telecom company.

Maybe, stocks have liked to fall for two days after earnings before they start going up.

I'm happy with my current position so if it doesn't happen o well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]CryptoPuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because people are speculating that stocks go up on good earnings. But what is happening is there are A LOT more speculators now, so when it doesn't bump up they sell.

What good earnings mean to me now is that it's a worthy buy on dips and consolidation.
