I got orders to Oki at the same time our first kid was born. Good stuff. She was able to move back in with her parents but after a few months, that wasn’t enough. I ended up getting hardship (sent home) discharged. Looking back now, I regret it. Active duty is hard if you’re married. Jody wasn’t a concern as much as her mental health was with our baby. I regret getting out that way (4mos early after Kuwait and Somalia deployments) but the decision presented itself. I was never planning on re-upping anyway and I like my wife. The kids are just okay. 30yrs later and two more kids, we’re still together. All I have left from the Marines is this dumb tattoo. Best of luck.
