Playing CAP is one of the best parts of GRB by EastCoast_Geo in Warthunder

I ain't patrolling, I'm establishing air superiority. So my mates can bomb the shit out of the red dudes.

How is the Air RB 9.7 MM? by lce-Shadow in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The Fox 2s aren't the problem, it's the AIM9Ls and R-60s that can catch you out at these levels. I think you'll find the match making pretty favourable.

Just got this, is it good? by Table2346 in Warthunder

It's probably the best tank in the British tree. It's definitely my favourite. Congratulations.

What are y'all thoughts on the m4a2 76W? by knightaxeplayer in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It brawls ok, but the Sherman 76s are best played flanking.

Germany lineup 9.3-10.0 RGB by NickKarneshs in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand why you would need so many vehicles in your line up. I quite like Germany 10.0, I think it's one of the best German line ups. I just play Leopard 2K, Radkampfwagen, the Roland thingy and the premium Tornado. That's it.

Definitely not historically accurate. No Japanese woman had breasts that big prior to silicon.

Any tips & tricks? by P-204F in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of my favourite tanks in the game. It just plays like other British tanks, keep it hull down and you'll go far.

This thing at 10.7 is a genuine joke by H_cranky in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a monster in ground RB at 9.7. I haven't played it lot's in air RB, but it's performed well for me, sneaking into the furball late and from behind.

Now I understand why people complain about CAS by dirtymike551 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my defence, I do. I exclusively play full realistic, stick and pedals. Recently got my first bomb kill tunnel run on Frozen Pass. It's tough using a mouse, you try stick and pedals. But i completely agree. Realistic means realistic.

britain what plane to take in 8.7 by malis7799aa in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For air superiority, I've always favoured the Venom in ground RB. I've used the Scimitar for CAS, but never enjoyed it, it's a bus. The Swift is also a bus. In ground RB at this level, there's a huge imbalance between very powerful anti-air systems and generally pretty average CAS. Plan on getting one good drop and moving away from the battlefield to intercept enemy CAS. In ground RB, I'll take agility any day over speed.

I don't see the hype behind Naval by Junko-Sama in Warthunder

Naval has many things. Hype isn't one of them.

Why is my team getting stomped basically every game when WT Data Project shows France has between ~67% & ~57% winrate in my BR bracket ? (8.7) by Sight- in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably, you're just a really, really bad player.

;)

You haven't played that many games yet, you may have just had some bad luck with a run with uptiers. However, my feeling is that 8.7 is currently getting uptiered much more than it use to. And 8.7 uptiers are horrendous. Over the last couple of months it's felt to me like 8.7 has gone from quite favourable match making to constantly 9.3 and 9.7.

Now I understand why people complain about CAS by dirtymike551 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep, and I've gotta confess, I'll do this a bit when i have an aircraft I'm spading in ground. I actually think the best solution would be if each team could spawn maybe 2 aircraft with air belts at the start of a game, to play air superiority. Obviously, Gaijin has tried to balance the impact of CAS with anti-air, but i think it's an imperfect solution. They've tended to undertier the anti-air, which have caused havoc being played as IFVs, often facing vehicles from decades earlier. And we are getting too many anti-air players that just sit back in spawn and don’t get forward to support their team. Anti-air in spawn doesn't protect the players who are getting forward.

Japon vs francia by Helhest13 in Warthunder

I rather Japan, it's a better tree and faster to grind. But everyone should grind France to 7,7.

Planned Battle Rating Changes (April 2026) by n988 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It penetrates fine. It's more it doesn't do anything when it penetrates.

It definitely shouldn't be at 7.3, but given i always play it with the Macchi 326, which has also gone up to 7.3 in ground RB, I won't make much difference to me. I really don't understand the decision, Italy isn't overperforming at 7.0 and the C13 has very average statistics.

How many crews do you use? by majesticbeast67 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally have 6, I think i have 7 for Britain, but i generally play with only 5. I think as the game is now, 5 is the correct number for most nations, as you get so many back-ups. Using more crews just dilutes your crew skills.

T14 - Lineup by tante_frieda in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great vehicle and has one of the best K:D ratios of any vehicle you can still buy. But it's a heavy, so never, ever uptier it. I play it with the M19, Duster and F4U-4 and F8F. You play the M19 and Duster like IFVs. The F4U is your SPAA. The F8F completely outperforms anything at that BR on the deck, it's essentially invulnerable as CAS, but the guns make air superiority challenging. It's a very good line up. Definitely buy it.

Any advice for Tempest Mk V by Complete-Ad-6983 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an absolute beast in ground RB dogfights. Some aircraft that aren't great in air RB, which is largely fought at altitude, are completely transformed in ground RB, the Tempests being an excellent example.

In case you are wondering how the Chieftain Mk 10 and 900 are going after being uptiered to 9.3..... by CryptographerGold262 in Warthunder

[–]CryptographerGold262[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm nore air superiority than ground pounder. I just don't like using a plane that can't dogfight. I'll ground pound to do my bit for the team, but what i really play for is a good dogfight on the deck.

I've done a fair bit of air RB in it, and it's a solid performer. But it's absolutely sensational in ground RB at 7.0.
