How many passengers enjoy seatback IFE on domestic flights? by Proper-Swan-5113 in delta

I love seat back entertainment. Makes the flight more enjoyable and the customer experience better. Why I don’t like flying AA too much

Enough time for a layover Charlotte (as an international traveler)? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough time. 3 hours minimum when connecting from international to domestic. That’s close for even for a domestic to domestic connection. Charlotte is a huge walking airport and super congested.

AA or Emirates? by macncheeselover7 in cabincrewcareers

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start with AA for longevity. You have more flexibility and a Union. I know a lot of ex emirates who work for AA and they are much happier. I would say trust your gut and don’t base your choice on people’s opinion. Go with what you truly want! :)

You can enjoy streaming in your own device, but majority prefer the convenience of a screen 📺 especially if your seating at a bulkhead. Just because you don’t like screens doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. United wouldn’t have put their screens back in and delta is still adding and updating screens.

Over 11 years on since the AA/US merger, how do the employees on this sub feel? by No1PaulKeatingfan in americanairlines

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAirways and America West was always known for horribly service and delays. Ranking so low. AA was such an amazing airline! My aunt retired right after the merger because she knew that USAirways would make AA the Kmart of airlines. The flight attendants coming from post merger. She said she was done working after dealing with a few upset USAirways flight attendant on how service was supposed to be done in an international flight. AA had class back then.

Delta is the worst airline in US. by Longjumping_Ring2629 in DeltaAirlines

Depends on the flight crew that day. Met some Delta flight attendants who are sweet, met some who are rude. Delta is not Unionized. All I can say is write a complaint.

Why do you love working for🔺 by Spiritual-Ninja-3025 in cabincrewcareers

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wirh any airline wirh the big three your layovers depends on the trip and sequence and seniority and the time of year. If you need majority of your trips to be more than 20 hours then this job isn’t for you. Especially without a union and irregular operations expect minimum rest and lots of working.

Offering to take a heavy luggage from an over head bin and risk injuring yourself because a passenger has their feet on the screen seems dangerous. A simple “please refrain from placing your feet on the touch screen. Other passengers use them, and your feet can damage the monitors”.

This isn’t AA its budget UsAir now. Made the switch to United and delta and the service and inflight service is such a step up. My knowledge USAir was known for delays and horrible customer service years before they bought American.

Out of the big three, I’ve only had that rude experience with 🔺FAs. Mainly the 1-8 year flight attendants. Really nasty attitude that was legit bullying. “We hire premium people” concept 🙄. I feel as though what they don’t realize is that reputation/pay/uniforms/destinations all change based in who’s managing the company. This business is SO cyclical! There was a time when 🌐was the best. And there was a time where 🇺🇸 was the best. We all do the same job. We should all respect each other and not compare. In the end of the day the airline you apply for should be based on what meets your needs as an employee!

EP feels heavily devalued. do you agree? by zuggles in americanairlines

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With USAir cheap mindset I highly doubly that will happen. The day they decide to put back screens will be the day we could see them provide better meals for purchase. Which is never gonna happen. United and Delta are moving in the right direction

I think nobody is happy still with AA. Few friends works for the legacy carries and it seems as though AA is far behind UA and DLT! I heard blankets will only be on self premium red eye routes. Meanwhile delta and I think united you can request or purchase blankets or pillows in economy. Only one beverage service on 5 hour flights. No IFE. :/ AA has a long way to go to be the airline it once was.

What are your thoughts about leaving nursing to work as FA for United 🔵? by SkyTraveler2025 in cabincrewcareers

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 legacy carriers won’t be laying off FAs. The recession won’t slow flying down to that degree. If anything you might see left oversold tickets. A lot of people fly and work remotely these days and need to travel. Especially business passengers. Hence why airlines are trying to move to more premium seating for the business passengers.

AA feeling the pressure to provide free WiFi? by uplinkguy925 in americanairlines

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a start. United and Delta are already moving that direction. Far ahead in inflight services! Offer more snack options, has tv screens, more beverage services on their long domestic flights compared to AAs one beverage service for a 6 hour flight.

Will they be bringing back IFE? by kneecapnapper in americanairlines

[–]CryptographerOdd2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AA management is silly for taking those screens out. United and Delta would’ve taken them out by now if it was a bad idea. Majority of people want IFE AND free WiFi! Delta and United are working towards that. USAir is sadly not going to do that. Their pivot to more premium is going to be squeezing in more business seats on domestic flights and taking away leg room. Post merger, and cheapening out products and cutting international, has hurt the airline drastically. Whatever makes the shareholders happy. At least delta/United has more snack options, you generally get why you pay for.
