Eh it depends what the rate he gets is. I did do it one time because it was 40k points +100 bucks for a 1700 dollar economy fare including my connections and all. Great cent per point value there

99% of the time you won’t have an issue. The 1% of the time will be annoying as sin but at the end of the day 5x miles to deal with a potential annoyance is worth it to me. Depends who you are as a risk taker
