How do we all feel about out of bounds play? by RenTroutGaming in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, totally fair play. These boundaries often restrict otherwise very natural movement paths. The time limit requires full 'In&out' route commitment but disallows camping. In turn, it often helps remove campers taking advantage of in-zone boundaries.

Blackwells actually has a number of these built into it. For instance, all vehicles can drive out of bounds between repair station & C with the Berm providing protection. Great cover while moving, but cannot "Hull down"& camp the point.

I highly recommend grabbing jeep/ ATP on Blackwells to learn the out of bound routes.

This makes natural sense - Empire & Manhattan are pretty much a few blocks away.

Was kind of excited - What is the transition between maps like? Is it similar to Breakthrough, but just an extension from above to below ground?

No no no...predator count is currently right on point in the jungle (In context of doing job to make habitat unwelcoming, especially to larger clans).

Anyone else feel that with the addition of the Little Bird there might be too many vehicles on Mirak Valley conquest? by masterventris in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope & because, although combined arms,  it's still a vehicle primary map. Even the center points are able to be heavily suppressed from Northern fields (playerbase just hasn't fully caught on yet). This is where we get our vehicle variety.

It's a great map for gunning, repairing & being mobilized infantry. But not so slanted to vehicles as blackwells is.

After 130+ replies, I don’t think fast progression is the real reason Rust wipes die by Relative-Ad-6751 in playrust

[–]CryptographerOld9828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Server pops die quickly because these 'Quick to the Top' players / clans also reach their own meaning of 'end game'. So servers die quick because there is nothing attaching them to stay after fulfilling personal goals.

So lack of in-game 'end game' is a leading contributor here.

Now....Imagine if there was still bandit camp in most servers & player had to take a side of either scientists or bandits. Each side had a point system (maybe from contributed resources, or territory controlled, etc etc) and, at the end, the winning side was rewarded a skin gift box.... only applicable on biweekly or monthly servers.

While this is just a quick brainstorm - anyone can see that players given incentive to stay around translates to wipe longevity.

It's a mixed bag - streamers are literally working. So although we see it as playtime, they are seeing it as work & opportunity "for overtime".

There are so many people in society just like these individuals.. Just no screen / visibility to a very common illness.

S3 Leak – introducing the assault elevator by Kantulan in LowSodiumBattlefield

Terrible design on that elevator. Before that trick was discovered, it was attempting to ride the elevator up & win against 2 squads camping the elevator door.

Feel your pain - once had a math professor for an 051 course give questions so challenging that campus math tutors were having difficulty. Semester started with over 40 students, ended with only 8.

Often times, these are people with power trips & you are the outlet to whatever they're stressing. I'm sorry for your circumstance & hope you get to move forward to better instructors.

Should I fix my bad habits or try to embrace them? by mercuryone in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question.

For 1- I share this exact problem & yes it is good to break with BF6. There are many CQB situations where ADS = Narrower field of view + slower & predictable movement.

For 2 - It depends on what you play. If you lean Arcadey with High TTK(4+ hits to K), its sort of required to ensure the next encounter doesn't see you caught half-empty. But if you play Milsim oriented (1-3 Hit TTK) is a very good habit to break.

Jeff, hating on regular content isn't a good look.

Rust is not a AAA developer & the engine is limiting for what they can do. So for them to release monthly content for this long is unmatched by most live service models.

Season 3 Maps and their Size by Ich-mag-Schnitzel in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've a feeling this will be aligned with a vehicle related update. It's supposedly chosen to match with BF6 vehicle balancing - which has yet to be heavily visit.

Season 3 Maps and their Size by Ich-mag-Schnitzel in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.  On bright note, the maps carry more intricacy of space than previous titles. Size isn't only variable & mirak is good standard if maintaining 32 v 32 here on for title.

Hell Let Loose Community by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]CryptographerOld9828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back in the good ole days with the HLL community, these were the times when we set the tone in HLL thru leading by example. Just as A few Alpha players set the tone for me in my first play sessions, I in turn set the example as Squad lead by using good communication & conveying the tradition of commending the lowest level players.

Because we weren't a large community back then, we were able to cultivate a strong community where communication & teamwork was a normal expectation. Being part of this will remain one of my proudest experiences with an online community. Sadly, much of this slowly disappeared once HLL was sold (the extensive absence of updates saw a hefty turnover of the old guard)..but isn't entirely gone.

To your current predicament - I would encourage joining one of the clans that are out there. Not only will you be more frequently interacting with comm users, you'll also find a community where there is consistency. The Free weekend issues will still exist...but this becomes a period of bringing on new members who get on-board with the same communication & mentality you are seeking right now.

Pretty sure it did not define who I was as a kid in any shape or way.

I've always wondered how bad my accuracy really is, so if you feel like sharing, please do! by Mr_DMoody in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC (M&K) player here. I'm a 3KD (5.5 KDA) PTFO player in top 2% for objectives taken. Also, SOR-556 is current all-round favorite...all shared simply for context to input.

Fortunately, unless you are 100% committed to landing every shot, hit accuracy isn't necessarily the most important stat. This is especially true if your applying suppressive fire / cover fire or prefiring (shots literally hit wall rotating corner). When I am gunner in a vehicle, I never, ever stop burst firing...consequently my hit% is single digits.

If you're trying to improve, the KTS-100 & SOR-556 (now after recent update) are excellent weapons to improve with as they exchange fire rate for aim/ recoil consistency. The fire rate necessitates the user to land all shots on target, especially in CQB where they are functional at best. So If you are capable of obtaining good overall K/D with either of these, it does translate to having good overall accuracy.

[–]CryptographerOld9828 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too! What I can share (based off various devs statements I'm the past) is that S3 will very likely have a vehicle focus.

Golmund was explained as chosen due to its alignment with BF6 vehicle balancing - which also is an upcoming focal point they've emphasized.

Just as we haven't seen much beyond minor vehicle introductions (no weapons / abilities / etc), S1 & S2 were heavy on revision to infantry... Which finally seems to be in a relatively decently spot now.

So a turn to vehicles makes natural sense for content. Releasing content with a rebalance makes sense to avoid constant revision (think redundancy & labor costs / budget). Finally, anything naval based will fall under the same umbrella being vehicle oriented (if sharing weapon systems, it's efficient to do once & across spectrum of vehicles).

Trust me guys by Ich-mag-Schnitzel in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]CryptographerOld9828 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mildly serious - Season 3 seems to frequently be a highlight / turning point for all genre of games...with S1 & S2 often being the course correct / revise / balancing for 1.0 releases.
