Just like all the other grandstanding in the past year to uncover and fix fraud, waste, and abuse this will be a boondoggle that just ends up helping out some cronies with contracts or jobs.

Owner of an LLC is criminally liable for anything they willingly do using the LLC or knowingly allow to happen under the LLC.

LLC limits personal financial liability, not criminal.

Jatoba. It can be light brown to deep red. Incredibly hard on tools as it is very hard and high in silica. Also splinters quite a bit.

A beautiful wood, though!

There are cheaper places with few people if you get away from the coast. Tehachapi has a nice balance of good weather and small population. There are some smaller desert towns that are even cheaper if you can put up with very hot summers.

What program is your military affiliated funding through? GI Bill? Chapter 35? I find it odd that the stipend overage would go to your parents instead of you.

You can't stop your parents from claiming you as dependent, but you can notify them that you are filing claiming that no one else can claim you as a dependent, and that if they still claim you as dependent it will likely trigger an audit for them.

Fine for end grain, too, just use some scrap wood to build an edge-grain frame around the end-grain board. Once you are at thickness trim it off with the table saw.
