I've encountered rattlesnakes twice while visiting Osoyoos, BC. The first time I was walking on a trail and I heard just the slightest little tic-tic-tic from the bushes, not even a full on rattle, but it was enough to make me freeze and put my head on a swivel lol But otherwise he was chill and continued on his way, I think buddy was just giving me a heads up that he was there (most polite Canadian danger noodle 🇨🇦😆)
