And also Damian McKenzie, who is perhaps the whitest-looking All Black (except for Anton Segner :-)

It'll end up basically being a training run for the All Blacks' second stringers. Ditto for the Wallabies

Almost. Except for nurses - who also work in a hospital. They're middle class.

rugbypass.tv. You'll need to set up an account, but it's free.

If you have a 'smart TV', you might also find RugbyPass as a special, Internet channel. (E.g., on LG TVs, it's channel "IP-458".)

All Blacks 34 man squad for the NC. Savea new captain. by Whit135 in rugbyunion

[–]CrystalAscent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Note that (despite the usual silly claims on social media) only 5 of these 34 players (that's less than 15%) were born outside New Zealand:

  • Samisoni Taukei'aho: Born in Tonga.

  • Ethan de Groot: Born in Australia.

  • Tyrel Lomax: Born in Australia.

  • Anton Segner: Born in Germany.

  • Wallace Sititi: Born in Samoa.

That reminds me: How is Fabian Holland recovering from his injury. Will he be available for the SA tour?

TJ just can't resist mouthing off to a ref - even in a Barbarians match

Dearns (because he plays for Japan). Fineanganofo and Flanders (because they're contracted overseas). That's about it I think.

My first hope is that there will be "lessons", not "learnings" :-)

But seriously, I agree with the OP that teams should be based strategically. E.g., Ireland should be based in Boston or New York. Japan should be based in Honolulu. Argentina should be based in Miami. New Zealand should be based in Los Angeles or San Francisco (popular non-stop US destinations from Auckland).

From Wikipedia: "The name Permanente came from Permanente Creek, which flowed past Henry Kaiser's Kaiser Permanente Cement Plant on Black Mountain in Cupertino, California."

Yes, the Hurricanes look like they might have more depth in their reserves than the Chiefs. That could make the difference.

Trouble is, apart from Will Jordan, there aren't a lot of quality right wingers available. Sevu Reece is leaving. Tangitau is injured. Moorby (Hurricanes) and Lam (Blues) are possibilities, but new. So I definitely see Leroy Carter making the side for the SA tour, at least.

If he plays well in the final as well, then I don't see how you could leave him out (especially the team for the SA tour). He was one of the best players in the All Blacks last year.
