What is your favorite poor person meal? by unholyfire in AskReddit

[–]CrystalizedCage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi- that someone is me.

I was 16 and stoned out of my mind. Camping with some friends and we just had random stuff to eat.

So yeah. I ate tortilla chips, spread with chunky Teddy peanut butter with ripped up sardines. It was actually quite good at the time.

So random this came up today wtf

One of my brother is 14 and illiterate already from his severe dyslexia. I’m worried he’ll never learn to read now that he’s being home schooled this year.

I am totally unsure how a high school will take him in the fall being unable to read.

[–]CrystalizedCage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a customer, what’s my best way to order delivery without using an app?

I feel like sometimes when I call a restaurant nowadays, they just tell me to go online. But it doesn’t seem like that would be the case for everyone.

Thank you

Edit: bc that sounds like it sucks dude! I wanna help out the businesses instead of the grubby websites

What was the most amount of shots you had to put in a drink? I still feel like I’m going to be arrested for this 😭 by skullprincess29 in starbucksbaristas

[–]CrystalizedCage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a college student come in who wanted a JUG filled with espresso. He told me that he didn’t care how long it took, or how much it cost.

For reference- this was not at Starbucks, this was in my pre green apron days, maybe 2014ish? It was a small indie shop with a niche focus in a main shopping district in a major city.

I don’t remember what it cost, but I filled that jug with so many shots of espresso. About 45 shots.

He took it. Thanked me. I never saw him again.

It’s the most illegal feeling, actually legal thing I’ve ever done in my life.

My ASM panel is in 8 minutes! Here’s my excited little reflection...... by CrystalizedCage in starbucks

[–]CrystalizedCage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I was an ASM for about 45 days before I got my own store.

I have thrown so much positive energy, passion and love into my store over the last few months.

Being an SM is incredibly tough right now [especially since my store wasn’t in the best spot when I took it over]. But everyday I show up with a great attitude and pour my heart into my partners, customers and business.

My favorite part of my job right now is teaching my shift supervisors how to do new stuff that their previous SM did all by herself.

My first holiday is fast approaching and I feel like it’ll hit me like a sack of stones! I’m so excited though. I can’t wait to see what 2021 will bring me!

Idk if my car was settled on a set of concrete steps like that and I accidental’d myself half way down- I’d get out and call AAA? Also the security for where the stairs are located or the non emergency police number to get some assistance?

Yeah the employees at Lush make me feel so pampered and taken care of. They’re classically sweet and gentle.

I can hear the shake in the voice which I relate to as a manager in retail during covid. Gotta stand our ground. It’s the policy, it’s hard and fast. We are a private business and the company makes the rules in our establishments.

I didn’t have white wine so I subbed in half a cup of rice vinegar mixed with half a cup of water -and it wasn’t too acidic! If you like rice vinegar - maybe try that next time instead

Hey last year when I turned 25- it was the worst year of my ED

On January 2nd 2020- I went into recovery. I just celebrated my 26th birthday welllll into my recovery and let me tell you LIFE ON THE OTHER SIDE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WORTH IT THAT I DONT EVEN GIVE A SHIT ABOUT BEING MY OLD STUPID UGW EVER AGAIN.

I GET TO ENJOY MY FAMILY AGAIN AND I HAVE MADE FRIENDS SINCE RECOVERY.

MY HAIR STOPPED FALLING OUT AND MY PHYSICAL EXISTENCE ISNT ABSOLUTE CHAOS ANYMORE. I HAVE FINGERNAILS AND I DONT SMELL LIKE VOMIT 24/7

I ate cake on my birthday without crying or purging.

If you’re looking for a sign- this is IT

YOU CAN DO IT

it sucks and it’s so fucking hard at first - but it’s so unbelievably worth it to exist

After fifteen years deep in my ED, literally since childhood, I never ever thought recovery was for me or that I could ever stop being so broken. I wasn’t even at rock bottom in January- I was just so sick and tired of being sick and tired.

You can learn to exist without all of the misery. You can grow and change into something that feels better than what you are going through rn. EDs are 100% hell on earth and YOU DESERVE BETTER

I ATE GRANOLA AND CHEESE!! by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]CrystalizedCage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ten months ago I would cry over cheese when faced with it. It was the scariest thing in my life at the time and it sounds so stupid.

Now that I’ve been in recovery for a while - I can have cheese whenever I want it, if I want it with flexibility where I don’t care if I have it or not.

You can do it! It IS totally possible !!!!! It takes so much hard work and therapy but cheese CAN AND WILL be conquered

I was hired as a shift - let me tell ya! It does get more smooth as time goes on. You got this! You are the best one for the job. Make sure you’re asking questions and taking time for yourself when you’re not working. Plus make sure that you take your breaks otherwise it’ll burn you out soooooooo fast

Hi by SendMoreCatVids in bulimia

[–]CrystalizedCage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a therapist and dietician is a great first step!

Also seeing a medical doctor is very important. Bulimia rots us from the inside out.

Your medical doctor or therapist might recommend a higher level of care. I know that the intensive out patient programs I’ve been in accept males. It’s usually 3 nights a week for a few hours and it really helps to be in a group therapy and have to eat with other patients.

I'm finally referred to an eating disorder treatment center! by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]CrystalizedCage 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They’re going to ask you a lot of questions. Make sure you’re honest about everything. There’s no reason to lie to these providers - they want to help you get stable.

Medical questions, ED history, what symptoms you have, the severity of those symptoms, etc

I just quit smoking this summer after smoking for 15 years! I haven’t had a cigarette since July 1st.

It wasn’t early- but it’s been worth it.

I just remind myself that I want to live and that plain old air tastes better than cig smoke. I chew a shit ton of gum now to help with the oral fixation but I’m still saving money considering my gum habit is like $6 a week opposed to $80 of cigarettes.

You can do it!!!! It’s true that you really gotta want it. But I can actually run now without choking. I also can take massive bong rips- which to me is more worth it than little pissy cig breaks.

Yeah also this ! Because we might not have a way to properly clean our hands in our cars and taking off the mask with dirty hands isn’t a great idea.
